Burt Bacharach meets Donavon at Ray Davies Beach house in Jamaica.
I've been writing songs and drawing pictures since i was a kid... i remember making up really corny songs when i was about 6 years old!
I did my first tour when i was 17 because my trumpet teacher didn't want to do it.... We toured South Australia...it was cool!....
I've been in heaps of bands, but i guess the best known one was the Bachelors from Prague or maybe The Black Sorrows.
I currently play with The Beachniks, Rebecca Barnard, Fogg, Los-Locos and Victoriana Gaye.
I worked for art-surf company MAMBO for most of the nineties.
I paint lots! In a style that has been described as 'Urban Primitive'... or 'Surf-Folk'.... I have exhibitions of paintings , I also do poster designs, t shirt designs , paint surfboards... and make little sculptures.
This is what i do for a living...I haven't had a 'normal' job since 1985. Yay!
I just put out my first solo recording...'Bellatrix' I describe it as a psychedelic folk funk experience!
Hello!!! It's been awhile - sorry there hasn't been in any Australian shows for many months but we've been busy in Europe with a bunch of touring and we're now recording our new album in Berlin (scheduled for release in March). But to make up for it, here's a big (and silly) Merry Christmas from us (and from some hippos too) :
Some bold new artistic direction? Nah, Just us being silly!!! We did this track for our label's "Black Snow - the completely different Xmas compilation". (and of course, visit our youtube channel for a high quality version)
Wishing you a very silly Silly Season and we'll see you back in Australia sometime in 2010!
