Greetings,

Well, '09 is here babies, and man are we ready! Vertigo Jazz Project is shooting out the gate with a tremendous night of live music w/ fusion masters Gongzilla at Stella Blue on 1/24/09!!! We will be joined by a full horn section of Asheville allstars for this show featuring Derrick Johnson (trombone) of Yo Mama's Big Fat Booty Band, Ryan Knowles (sax) of The Afromotive, and Justin Ray (trumpet) of The Michael Buble' Band (yes ladies; that Michael Buble Band).

Plan on many suprises from this conglomerate of established and rising stars of Asheville and beyond. This will be a big one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GONGZILLA:
Journalist Bill Milkowski called GZ "simply mind-boggling". Gongzilla first released a series of mostly instrumental albums featuring guest guitarists on each one, including jazz fusion legends Allan Holdsworth, David Torn and David Fiuczynski. More recently, Gongzilla has included some U.S. jamband heroes, like guitarist Chuck Garvey of moe., and has emphasized vocals, crafting songs which fuse with improvisational rock. Contradictions and balance; Rowe and Lozaga sing cool songs that will singe your soul while balancing both the hyper precision and the rockin' mayhem this band is capable of live. The new studio record "Five Even" includes the aforementioned Garvey as well as Jake Cinninger of Umphrey's McGee plus guitarist David "Fuze" Fiuczynski (Screaming Headless Torsos) with bassist Kai Eckhardt of Garaj Mahal sitting-in too!

It's time! The week is here! The Feral Chihuahuas present HALLELECTION! All the frightening horror of politics and the half-truths and circular logic concerning Halloween. We will see some regular folk try to dethrone Joe SixPack in a sketch called Average Joes. You'll know who has the best candy and where in Halloween Stategery. Faux News is resurrected for a special election edition. We will see some some hauntingly hip and funny Halloween Slam Poetry. Candidates Douglas Munson and Terry Doyle make last minute pleas for your votes. We see costume popularity put to the test in Everyone's a Joker. And we give a salute and homage to exiting president George W. Bush with some music from The Clean Skies Act.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.usHey Feral Fans,

Well its all lead up to this Saturday! It's The Feral Chihuahuas Sketch Comedy Season Finale! We are featuring the best sketches, songs and films from this season and debuting our Broadway Hit, PAST PRESENT TIME COP FROM THE FUTURE: THE MUSICAL. This show is going to be chock full of hilarious stuff and if you didn't catch any shows this Summer this is the one to go to.
We'll explore Cockney colloquialisms in MR. TIBBLES BRITISH INVASION. Frat Brothers reunite violently in BRO HUGS. You'll choke with laughter when you see AUTOEROTIC ASPHYXIATION. Our political heroes DOUGLAS MUNSON and TERRY DOYLE will debate, dance and duke it out. Criminal Johny Dingo sells everybody out in THE INTERROGATION. Aging Pop Star Cherdonna will sing her new hit song COUGAR. We'll receive a citation from THE JOKE POLICE. You'll be sweepin' like you're in the Marines when you try the manliest broom around: THE SUPERSWEEPER. Karaoke star James returns to the stage in WILLING SUSPENSION OF DISBELIEF and INFECTIOUS LARRY will sing some songs in the key of STD and we'll also have a look at the Hardworking COPS: MOUNT OLYMPUS when they have a tangle with a drunk Zeus. It is gonna be an awesome show so get those tickets early! We've already sold a bunch for both shows!
That's this Saturday August 23rd at 35 Below Theater. (35 E. Walnut St - Underneath Asheville Community Theater) Showtimes are 8:00 and for this week 10:00 PM. (It's a little longer show)

Peace, Love and Teeny Piles of Poop,

Some girl I haven't talked to in a while sent me this link and asked if it was me.
She remembered that I played guitar.
Of course I said yes.

So after a brief two week hiatus we return to give you four more weeks of Chihuahua hilarity! You don't want to miss this week as we power back strong with a cosmic cup of comedy.
We will visit a high society tasting party with a proletariat taste in beverages. We'll find out how Krystal Jenkins perfected her Karaoke Spin-Clap. We'll check in on what Reality TV has lined up for the fall. The hardworking COPS on Mount Olympus have a showdown with Zeus. Lounge singer, "Infectious Larry" will sing a smooth number in the key of STD. We'll visit a Racist Neighbor, some inner office antics in a piece called Dinner Anyone?, and we'll even watch Conventional Company kick some generic opponent ass complete with witty banter and biting one liners. It is gonna be a very funny show. We hope that you all will be there.

Good Day Feral Followers,

We would warmly welcome you to worship services this week at The First Church of Chihuahua. This week's service will cover such moving topics as how to speak calmly and with calculated syntax, just like an NPR reporter. We will visit Pastor Trent with his modern and cool take on Christian Camp. We'll check out Ninjitsu Cleaning Services, who will make your house as shiney as a gold statue of Buddah. There will be a special science presentation by Mr. Molecule and his sidekick Brainy Monkey. We will have some new political ads from our favorite candidates, Terry Doyle and Douglas Munson. We'll even learn how to deepen our voices at Monster Truck Voice School. The Feral Choir will also be singing some unlikely country music this week. It will be a fabulous service we hope that you all will attend.
