Jeffrey James, a twenty-three year old singer songwriter of Indianapolis, IN, has been creating and performing music since he was a teenager. With his smooth, alternative voice and a jaunty, rhythmic pop/rock vibe, Jeffrey is now residing in Nashville, TN and striving to break into the music industry. Jeff has a unique sound that is darker and blues-ier than most artists on the market. His original songs are typically upbeat and rhythmic. “I believe music should connect with people. I think music can still do that without being depressing,” Jeff says. “I want to make music that people can enjoy. When fans can’t sit still, that’s when I’m most satisfied.”
Jeffrey has spent the last few years playing shows in Nashville and touring a circuit of colleges in the Midwest, gaining the support and loyalty of a growing fanbase. In April 2009, his debut EP arrived with great success. “I’m very proud of this EP. It’s a great starting point for me to express who I am to the world… however I know I have a lot more to say with my music.”
Now Jeffrey is back int he studio recording his first full length album with producer Jason Klav. It Is is set to drop in late January. "I am very excited because with this album I have been able to grow musically in the direction that I want. I am able to touch on a few different genres but am still keeping fun Pop/Rock style that I love. I know it's going to turn out great."
The satisfaction in writing and performing his own music drives Jeffrey to continue to make plans for the future. He is currently working on taking his music and style to college audiences around the nation.
Jeffrey will follow the album release with a tour starting in February.
With a positive, down-to-earth attitude and an honest love for performing music, this is certainly just the tip of the iceberg for Jeffrey James.
