This singer/songwriter has offered up music on the altars of churches and in the smokey barrooms all across the appalachian region. He began as harmony vocalist and bassist in a gospel bluegrass band in his teens. Thru the years he has performed blues, rock, folk, country & gospel in various bands. Whether playing bass and singing with a full blown electric band, or as an acoustic performer, Jeffrey Joe Buckland always stays true to his songwriting & musical stylings. Buckland's debut album, Strange Transmissions, is clearly a reflection of his musical influences and inspirations which include: Chris Whitley, Steve Earle, CCR, Neil Young, Uncle Tupelo, Lucinda Williams, and Willie Dixon. At the same time he shows that he is his own man as all the tunes on the record were written by Buckland himself. The record was recorded in Nashville except for one tune, Pleasure Blues which was taped live from Gilkeys Garage in Oak Hill, WV. All the musicians are from southern WV. The hooks are totally original and your foot will be tappin. If you like music you'll love this superbly produced album. Buckland has shared the stage with Georgia Satellites, singer/songwriter David Olney, Ann Mccue, Bernie Leadon, Duke Robillard, The McGraw Brothers, Nat Reece, Charlie Donelan, Tommy C. and others.
