"He doesn't like to hold on to love...'cause mama said to give it away..."
Add a rich melody and a smooth, soulful baritone voice to this kind of simple honesty, and you've found Jeffrey Joslin right in the heart of what means most to him. "I feel like I have SOME sort of responsibility...to change the way people think...about love, relationships, or just an overall outlook on living life." His song is not just one of pretty girls and good times. It is one of hope, love, friendship, and inner struggle. Drawing heavy influences from the likes of Stevie Wonder and James Taylor, Joslin's melodic interpretation of life certainly brings a smile to your face.
Growing up in the Appalachian Mountains of Tennessee, Joslin's earliest influences are now the CCM legends of today. He gathered elements of piano playing from Michael W. Smith and detailed guitar compositions from Jars of Clay. Though Joslin's talents consist of writing, singing, and playing guitar and piano on a regular basis, that's not all that keeps this 22 year old college student busy. Majoring in Recording Industry Production and Technology, with a minor in Business, Joslin has plenty to keep him busy. In addition to being a full time student, he also gladly takes on the roles of producer, engineer, photographer and graphic designer. His first and only release to date, the For Real This Time EP, Joslin did the photography, design work, and wrote and composed every track.
It won't be long before Joslin's heartfelt message of love and higher purpose, nicely wrapped in it's "old school meets new school" format, is heard at a national level. It has to...'cause Joslin isn't settling for anything less...
"...he likes to hear what mama says about dreams and reality...that if he wants it bad enough, he can be what he wants to be..."
