Bio
.... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ...... COURT HOUSE BELLS - With Jefferson Ross and Lennie Gallant .. .. .. .. .. .. .. I WAS HERE - Azalea .. .. .. .. .. .. .. In the spirit of Guy Clark and Townes Van Zandt, Jefferson’s story driven songs paint musical portraits and textures that you will not forget. Inspired by the people who are devoted to quality and putting in the love, experience and special stuff that sets them apart from the pack, Jefferson, aspiring to inspire has created an album in Azalea that says I’m a southern boy who loves to travel and experience all the world has to offer, but I’m home where the dogwoods and azaleas bloom. By 16 Jefferson was touring with various Gospel acts. It was during this time he landed a band position with Jimmy Swaggart. He was told, “You’re hired. Get a passport. We’re leaving for Australia next week.” Although gaining invaluable experience as a stage musician, Jefferson identified himself as a songwriter. He’d been writing songs for his church band so it seemed fitting when Jimmy Swaggart cut “Unworthy of The Blood”. “When I found out that people actually make money writing songs, that was it for me!” Inspired by his Grandaddy’s 8 tracks of Johnny Cash and Merle Haggard, and his own rootsy musical collection, Jefferson set his sights on Music City. He admits the genre has changed quite a bit since he moved to Nashville but its hard not to love an “excellent lyric married to an organic melody.” Jeff and his Martin D-18 spent the early part of the 90’s living in Berlin, Germany. “The wall had just come down and the East and West were in a honeymoon period. I have a piece of The Wall I chiseled off myself and it sits on my bookshelf at home.” A few years later he toured with Sam and Annie Tate, Mark Ortmann (of the Bottle Rockets), and Gene Rabbai through Czechoslovakia as Foot Hill Train. After a cut on Bryan White’s Between Now and Forever album, (On Any Given Night), Jefferson headed out on a weekend gig with Grand Ole Opry member Terri Clark that lasted 10 years and gave him the opportunity to share the stage with Reba, George Strait, Brooks and Dunn, and Toby Keith. Jefferson came off the road in 2005 to commit to writing full time and give voice to all these stories. Within a few months he landed a staff writing contract with Curb Publishing and 300 songs later is debuting his first studio album, Azalea. .. ........ .... .. .. .. .. .. .................... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. -

10 of 527MoreJefferson Ross my dearest friend:
I understand you'll be rather busy working on your musical project until the end of February. Already I can picture your new repertoire abounding in new beautiful country songs coming up soon, you are to send me an original copy out of that for my personal files. Now that we've become compadres even more united after these musical exchanges between us two. Please tell me about your songs to come and count on with my support, tell me whether you would like to set music on one of my poems, whose title you yourself will choose according to your personal will and taste. That would be far-out my dear friend, to have a little, but rich and cultural partnership with you poetical and musically.
I'll wait for your contacts come March 2011. Please accept a fraternal hug and my sincere friendship always,
Taquinho Noronha

Yes, Taquinho....let's collaborate. I'm crazy busy for the next couple of months with my new project but
I'd like to work with you in friendship. Peace-Jeff
Jefferson Ross dearest:
My heart is jumping for joy after you agreed and gave me your kind leave to do a song of yours, in your homage or tribute.
I've been slowly listening to your songs on and on, the choice is now between "REALITY" and "CHANGE" but, as time goes by, I think the first one has been beguiling me all over.
What a wonderful melody you've got for these lyrics, my good friend. I also like the second one, mostly for schooling us a lesson on "Optimism", urging men to consider considerable profound changes in his life.
And we are bound to an end should we be rather statues, not moving a single feather.
Wouldn't you like to write down music for one of my poems in sheer friendship, honor, culture and encouragement? What would be your favorite themes when you compose?
When are you supposed to be launching your next record?
In a few months my friends musicians and I will start running through your song that I may have chosen by then.
I'm glad that a friend of mine, in Australia, has accepted setting music on a poem I wrote regarding butterflies called "SHINE".
May God allow it to become a beautiful song, a friendly
partnership, a vivid remembrance of our wares, the lovely music we are able to make together.
Please receive a fraternal hug and a lot of positive strength and vibrations from your ardent admirer in Brazil, ever,
Taquinho Noronha
Hi there stranger!! Sorry for the long delay in contacting you , and everyone else on My space, but have not been on the site for ages, seem to spend more time on Facebook at the moment, really must get off my butt and make contact with friends on here again.
Thanks for the add. Great music.
Yeah, Dylan book doing okay, will really take off if the upcoming reviews are good.
I have never been to Savannah despite living four years in Columbia, South Carolina. Go figure that one.
Well, hope to see you and yours one day and thanks for the chow tips.
