I have been influenced by many diverse players from different music genres such as Geddy Lee, Steve Harris, Jeff Berlin, Dave Larue, Chris Squire, Nathan East, Victor Wooten, Sting, Chris "CK" Kent, Marcus Miller, Stanley Clarke, Jaco Pastorius, Scott Ambush, the list goes on & on!
I first picked up the guitar when, I was about three years old and havent put it down since. As I grew up, being a musician became a passion that would direct my steps throughout my life. I went through a number of different of instruments before, I found the bass guitar.
I began taking lessons from Charlie Watson, a legendary jazz guitarist, who taught the bass guitar from a rhythm guitarist perspective. His influence goes with me to this day. As a teenage rocker, I discovered players like Geddy Lee & Steve Harris. Through the years, I have been influenced by bassists from all styles of music from jazz to heavy metal. The turning point in my personal life and music career was a conversation with one of the greatest musicians that ever lived.
He encouraged me to continue playing and I could be a great player, one of the best, because I had been given this talent by God and He expected me to use it for His glory. I realized that God wanted me to use my talent for His purpose and not my own. That simple statement impacted me to pursue music as a life long calling and not just a career. I have been blessed to have the opportunity to tour and record with some the greatest Christian rock bands and Christian artists on the charts today. I have toured and performed extensively throughout the U.S. and Europe. Personally, my wife and my children are the greatest accomplishment in my life. They make life complete and I am truly blessed to have them in my life! God has blessed me beyond measure and I am humbled that He chose me to serve Him through sharing His love and truth through song!
I have been a touring & session pro for 23 years. I am proficient in multi string fretted & fretless, electric & acoustic bass. I am proficient in many styles of music such as gospel, jazz, pop, rock, power pop, praise & worship, latin, reggae, hard rock, metal etc. Over the years, I have performed every style of Christian music out there. I am available for tour support, recording sessions & gigs.
