Jeff Thal is a professional independent drummer, as well as a songwriter and producer. Born and raised in N.Y.C., he started performing, writing and recording at the age of 10. Taking 8 years of solid lessons from two prolific jazz/fusion players, he got into progressive rock early on, with influences such as Rush,Yes, King Crimson, etc. He played his first club at 16, started teaching at 17, and has been performing ever since. To date, Jeff has appeared twice in both Modern Drummer Magazine and DRUM! Magazines. He currently lives in Tampa, Florida where he teaches, does studio session work, writes and produces music. As a producer, he recently finished the debut CD of A DEEPER DOWN, his own original rock group, which is launching now. He is currently producing female pop artist Jessie LaVoce as well.
