Jeff currently performs with pianist Mike Criscione. The Willards perform all differnt types of music that the make their own during any performance. When asked to "kick it up a notch", they add drummer Tommy Dobeck, of Michael Stanly band fame.
They present a wide variety of covers and originals.
Influences
Jeff's influences musically come from of course the Beatles and then reach out into all genres of music. Mostly singer songwriter material does it. James Taylor, Bob Dylan, Paul Simon on the contempory side. On the more obscure side, John Hiatt, Lyle Lovett. Guy Clark, Steve Earle, and of course Loudon Wainwright.
Spiritual influences are far reaching from people I have met to people I have read about. Kerry Andler, Robert Evans, Vernell White Thunder, Harry Whitney. The ones I would like to have an afternoon with...Abe Lincoln, Bobby Kennedy, Ghandi, Crazy Horse, Sitting Bull. To name a few. More later
Jeff Varga has come full circle, he began playing coffeehouses and clubs at the age of 16 in Cleveland, Ohio. During his high school years he performed in bands and doing solo work and also his high school drama department. Eventually moving to NewYork City to attend the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. He continued performing with bands and solo performances while studying at the Academy. Once graduated, he was on the road touring with bands in Scandanavia and Europe. Jeff returned to Cleveland starting hos own band and eventually returng to his roots as a singer songwriter doing what is considered contemporary folk music. Jeff like to just call it his music. No tag just hoping you like it.
