...swinging behind Daniel Decker on WTVS-56 Detroit's PBS Station.
... also really enjoy playing 'old-school country' with a wonderful couple known as The Hummingbirds - here at The All-Star Grille & Lanes in Westland !!

I have had the pleasure of backing up a number of 60's artists over the years, including Lesley Gore (It's My Party), Lou Christie (Lightning Strikes), The Crystals (Da Doo Ron Ron), Martha Reeves (Dancin' In The Streets), Danny and the Juniors (At the Hop), The Coasters (Yakety Yak), Little Eva (The Loco-Motion), Freddy "Boom-Boom" Cannon (Palisades Park), Archie Bell (Tighten Up), Fabian (Tiger Man), Billy J. Kramer (Bad To Me), The Tokens (The Lion Sleeps Tonight), Alex Chilton (lead singer of the Box Tops and founder of Big Star) and the late Wolfman Jack and his Midnight Special Rock and Roll Revival Road Show. The young and outstandingly gifted drummer on these shows was ..Tommy Clufetos ! (who has gone on to play with Ted Nugent, Alice Cooper and currently with Rob Zombie)
I learned my craft while playing or studying with a collection of great jazz musicians around Detroit (Funk brother Joe Messina, Ralph Armstrong, Mike Karoub, Wendell Harrison). Early in my career, I replaced bassist Jervonny Collier (who went on to join Gladys Knight's show) as a member of Shivers, a Detroit band signed to A&M Records in the 80s which played all around Michigan and Canada. While being an on-call session player at Cloudborne, Ron Rose and Producers Color Service Studios, I became part of the early recordings and productions of the songwriting team of Michael King and Gary Nester.
I went to a workshop conducted by John Clayton. He is amazing. Check him out!!
... I recently found out about Tal Wilkenfeld - Check out this fabulous bassist in the Jaco Pastorius tradition (and of course with Jeff Beck no less!)
