I've been writing tiny bits of music and lyrics for about 12 years, starting with the simplest (and most terrible) lyrics and chord progressions, slowly changing into the wonderful world of MIDI, mostly due to sound quality issues;)
Writing vocally based songs is something i've done as well and despite having oodles of equipment to help capture such things I'm equally lazy and lacking in proper spaces to get an acceptable sound - that and I'm not much of a singer.
Instrumental music seems to be more fun to create for me.
