I grew up in and still live in Winnipeg...home of the world class Winnipeg Folk Festival and birth place of so many incredibly talented musicians. I have been primarily a closet songwriter but I have grown tired of singing to the hangers and have walked towards the light! I spent a good part of my teen years living on Young Street and my best friend and I would often go to the Ting on Spence and Broadway to play pinball in the foyer. We listened to the likes of Big Dave McLean and Mood Jga Jga while we fed our allowance into the pin ball machines. When asked where the somewhat bluesy influence came from in my music I have to say its partly from those nights in the foyer at the Ting absorbing the music of Winnipegs best! I play the guitar and flute and sing. I have been hitting the open mics in Winnipeg this year and its been a lot of fun. Gives me new respect for people that are out there doing it for a living!!! I also stream some online concerts here and there. Lots of fun and amazing to think people all over the world are listening.
