Jemini – Her Music is the Window to your Soul…

Canadian songstress Jemini is the window to your soul with the true essence of humility, beauty, inspiration and passion!

Jemini was introduced to music and singing in elementary school and took singing in the choir seriously. Receiving much encouragement from her father who is also singer Jem (as friends and family call her) continued on the singing path throughout elementary school and also began singing in the church choir. By the time she reached junior high Jemini was fully entrenched in the craft and became heavily influenced by the likes of Whitney Houston and Mary J. Blige these female artists' delivery of lyrics and powerful vocals would come to serve as the direction and path that Jemini would come to follow.

Capturing the emotion of a story or event Jemini uses her personal experience or those of friends and family as her basis for music. "I cannot sing just for singing sake, I must sing from soul and heart." says Jem when asked about her lyrical content. With this connection to song Jemini is easily able to write her own lyrics from a truthful stance to which all listeners can relate especially those who have either lived or have had similar experience.... With Jem there is no sugar coating!

As a survivor who has overcome many life obstacles, trials and tribulations Jemini has no intention of stopping her musical journey anytime soon! This Canadian songstress of Jamaican ancestry is poised to transcend the music scene with her soulful brand of lovers rock and roots reggae music. Her most recent and initial debut (No turning back) has been well recieved and is in current rotation on reggae playlists world-wide. The video for No turning back (release fall '11) was shot on location in New York by renowned director Berman Fenelus (allareacrew.com) who has also worked with the likes of Chris Brown, Busta Ryhmes, Gyptian and the Victoria Secret brand just to name a few. Jem has been nominated for Canada's best female vocalist of the year and most promising artist and is still working hard to achieve more!

Some of Jems philanthropic focuses and passions are empowering women and children. On her recent trip to Jamaica Jem distributed clothes and shoes to those of whom she has committed herself to through her foundation.
