    Jen(at Salt)'s Interests
GeneralI am a great one for starting projects (but not necessarily finishing them) and getting enthusiastic about new ventures (even if only short lived). At the moment this includes running, which I've recently discovered I can do and love it. Food us up there on my list of passions - I like cooking, though it's not always appreciated by the family. Walking the dog keeps me sane, I paint the house every summer when I always have lots of energy. Oh, yes, and books - I love them - and reading! Just as well, really, given my job is to read manuscripts and publish books.
CURRENT MOON
Oops, nearly forgot, I used to be Swingball Champ, undefeated. But then I got badly beaten on holiday. Oh well, there's always next year.
MusicClap Your Hands Say Yeah are the best. I like all sorts of other music: David Bowie. The Band. Velvet Underground. The Pixies, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Andy Stewart (after a few drinks), Johnny Cash, Arcade Fire, The Killers, just about everything, up to a point.
MoviesI love films and go to the cinema every Saturday morning with my daughter so am well up on children's movies. Rent lots of DVDs and have wide-ranging taste. Can watch the same ones time and time again as I have a terrible memory and forget plots and endings very quickly. I do remember likeing 21 Grams (fab), Calamity Jane, Fight Club, The Matrix (first one only - a classic). Grease, Kill Bill 1 & 2 - I want to come back as Uma Thurman in that film in the next life.
TelevisionCan't be bothered with it. Endure lots of children's tv channels, usually at full volume.
BooksI love all of Salt Publishing's authors - we publish the most exciting poets and short story writers in the world (seriously, we do).

More generally, I love short stories & poetry. Loved Cloud Atlas (lots of interconnected short stories) and was with Pi every nautical mile of his journey with the tiger. Loved Brass by Helen Walsh - a bare-knuckle read. JG Ballard's Vermilion Sands is a masterpiece. Like to read books recommended by interesting people - as long as they're short [received this comment in response to that statement: Now, really, how many short people do you know who are really interesting deep down, once you get over the "Hi" and "Gosh, you're short... was your Dad short too?"]Paul Auster - just about everything by him. Anna Kavan.

Welcome to my MySpace page! My name is Jen Hamilton-Emery and here's a bit about me: I was brought up in Glasgow and have lived South of the Border since 1988, firstly in Manchester and then in and around Cambridge. Spent 20 years working in hospitals and community settings doing my bit to improve health services and then gave it all up to join Salt Publishing to work with Chris and the wider Salt team to help turn it into something fantastic. I am married to poet Chris Emery and have 3 children who I hope will make their mark on the world.
I've got a blog on this site, and also one here, and a Flickr site for my photographs here I've signed up for a 10k run in October 2008 to raise money for Cancer Research UK. Please sponsor me as I need all the encouragement and support I can get! Make a Free Flash Slideshow
See yourself here! Take part in Salt's Happy Snapping Challenge by sending a pic of you reading a Salt book to images@saltpublishing.com
You Are 50% Normal
While some of your behavior is quite normal...
Other things you do are downright strange
You've got a little of your freak going on
But you mostly keep your weirdness to yourself

Take the following with a pinch of salt (I just couldn't resist that, sorry) - just a bit of fun - have a go yourself.
You Are An ENTP
The Visionary

You are charming, outgoing, friendly. You make a good first impression.
You possess good negotiating skills and can convince anyone of anything.
Happy to be the center of attention, you love to tell stories and show off.
You're very clever, but not disciplined enough to do well in structured environments.

In love, you see everything as a grand adventure. You enjoy taking risks for love.
And if things don't work out, you're usually not too much worse for the wear!

You would make a great entrepreneur, marketing executive, or actor.

At work, you need a lot of freedom to pursue your own path and vision.
How you see yourself: Analytical, creative, and peaceful

When other people don't get you, they see you as: Detached, wishy-washy, and superficial
Your Personality is Very Rare (INFP)
Your personality type is dreamy, romantic, elegant, and expressive.

Only about 5% of all people have your personality, including 6% of all women and 4% of all men
You are Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling, and Perceiving.
Who I'd like to meet:
People who read, write, publish, draw, think, are funny, are interesting. People who run. People passionate about food. Paul Auster and JG Ballard, John Travolta 20 years ago. Everyone who lives in Arkansas or who knows anything about Arkansas, or indeed, who wants to go to Arkansas. And Stephen Fry too <3. .. ..

I'd like to invite you and all your friends to check out (and hopefully subscribe to) my blog concerning the launch of my new novel, Child Finder. My book has already received some great reviews before its official release on June 9th. It is a mystery/suspense thriller -- and is only the first in a trilogy I am contracted to write. ..

Click here to access my blog where I will post information about the book's availability as well as signing events.  Also, be sure to check out my novel's website (www.childfinder.us) for more detailed information about the story, my background, and publication schedules.

Coil me up inside,
Slow the sands of time,
Reaching out and then,
Feel the Cosmos End,
Surf the winds of change,
Freindship never ends,
The circle remains unbroken,
Weight of words unspoken,
Burden of your sight,
Watching wings take flight,
Of this time transcend,
Lets Restart again,
Lets Restart again

I, CHAU VAN TRUONG, have done my best to place the VIETNAMESE and fellow ASIANS into the INERNATIONAL SPOTLIGHTS. No lone individual, but a collective agreement of minds, can soldier on to make the pursuit of this dream become reality. Our identity, heritage, and our place in history depend on our perseverance, courage, and support from today and future generation to shape the promises and intellects of our youth. We must not accept the labels of what people say we are but show them what we are capable of. I have spoke often of a higher purpose and there are no higher purpose then loving who you are and to avoid the chasm of the status quo that shame us into the negative lights of the global community. WE, VIETNAMESE and fellow ASIANS, will make the impossible a possibility.
