‘Charlton has a voice that could sing a shopping list and make it worthwhile. At the same time, you get the feeling that music for her is a matter of life and death.’ As part of what is now clearly a tradition of great Canadian singer/songwriters, she was born in a small town in Ontario, but has been paying her dues in London. Having recorded her third album, Charlton is an original musical voice.
Charlton’s musical roots are two-fold: classical piano and Anglo-American folk; but infused with her own left-field sensibilities and a talent for writing a tune. In short - she’s got it. She has lived all over, from Montreal, to New York, to Spain, and followers of her story so far will know her previous incarnation in the band The Lovers – a very well received folk/rock group. Charlton teamed up with producer Sean Read (who has collaborated with Graham Coxon, Edwin Collins; and produced Beth Orton’s acclaimed record ‘Central Reservation’) for the most recent album 'Wasted' - now out on Proper Distribution in the UK and available on i-tunes and Amazon.
She is now working on a new EP for release in summer 2008.

Hope you are having a good Holiday season! I wanted to let you know that i'll be touring in the UK in January with Kevin Montgomery, and we are playing London on Jan. 15th....at the Half Moon on Putney.
I hope you can make the show..........until then, Happy Trails! AP
Old fashioned radio is so beautiful, and so magnetic just don't ever want it to end. Definitely gonna try and make your gig on the 22nd and would really like you to play in Brighton at some point if you would like to, lots of love and admiration, Rxx
New cd is great! Found it on Amazon. Very true and warm. Love the lyrics to 'Life's a funny thing'. 'Wasted' still my fav track though! The textures on the Autocrat mix was a nice bonus too.
Thanks for the music!
