Hi! I’m Jeni Wallwork from Tasmania, Oz. I write songs for others to perform and/or re-record. I make rough demos of my songs so others can take them over and make them fly. Huge thanks to the singers in the clips above, who put their great vocals over my demo backings and brought them to life - Udhara de Silva (who did his own backing as well), Danielle Matty, Eloise Anderson, Jon Clay and Becca Riedtman. The other songs have my demo vocals only...I'm seeking new ones...can you help?
I’ll tell you a little about how I operate and if you want to use my songs, you can have a listen and let me know what you think.
My usual way of working is to email singers with mp3’s of my song/songs that they want to do, with and without vocals, so that they can re-record their own vocals over my backing or use my demo as a springboard to start from scratch.
Then they email me back their version of the song. Or they can sing their version of the song live, change the style and beat, change the lyrics from female to male perspective if necessary, etc, as long as I am acknowledged as the songwriter.
I can send basic chord sheets with lyrics as well, but I don’t write music so there’s no sheet music as such!
Then both of us can use the resulting demo, or live clip, if there are any, to promote ourselves, me as the writer, them as the singer, and we acknowledge each other whenever we use the song.
It is an unpaid but mutually beneficial honour-based system where we have both made a commitment to the song, the plan being that when the song takes off and makes millions, that payment can be negotiated! It makes me feel good to know I am helping out singers/bands who need new material.
