Brett Lodde - long time guitarist, friend, man about town, secretly wears tights............
John Wittmann - long-time drummer, fresh out of prison, friendly face, but be
very afraid...........
Greg McGuirk - witness protection program, not allowed to tell you too much
here...but he's very good, this I know...........
Jeff Stone - bass player, never spoken to him really, he just shows up at my
gigs with his bass, he's from Canada so he speaks 'Canadia'
and likes smelly cheese, he has an awesome Beatle hair-cut........
Nicole Proctor - friend & chick singer who balances out the testosterone in the band. Plus she went and got herself 'knocked up'. She's married but we don't know really whose baby it is. I wonder if she'll think this is funny.......
Karl Bruhn - soundman, he's an engineer so he sometimes looks right through you if he's on a path, he must finish his thoughts, could be autistic but we've not had him tested, we love him dearly.

Sounds Like
I suppose my music is a bit of old-school soul meets singer-songwriter lyrics meets passionate rockin' vibey triple-A rock....I guess, that is.
I've been told it's a blend of Aretha Franklin, Janis Joplin, Beth Hart, Norah Jones, Patty Griffin and Ellen Degeneres....? Trying to just be deliberate in my writing and passionate in my delivery. Whatever that means, really. It's something, not nothing, that's for sure, whether I can describe it or not. I don't think you're supposed to talk about music. And you're not supposed to 'hear' it, but you are supposed to 'feel' it. This is a good aim to have. I'm trying to have it, thanks for reading, ok.
"...Jennie DeVoe is an endearing soul-blues singer who radiates the vibe of a 21st century flower child. Her potent gospel voice tames any crowd she encounters. DeVoe is now inhabiting the dangerous, psychedelic space of icon Janis Joplin. Fireworks & Karate Supplies is an important and irresistible leap forward. Consider all DeVoe’s dues paid with this record." David Lindquist, The Indianapolis Star................................ ....................................................................................................................................................................................
"Beyond DeVoe's compelling sound - her soulful, hippie-funk vocals - is her
hypnotic, manic energy. She is capable of engaging totally, locking eyes,
her conversation instantly confessional and intimate, wacky and profound as
she rockets from topic to topic. With her pierced nose, bohemian affectations,
there's a rowdiness about her, and to make her laugh is to bask in her particular
brand of strange sunshine. Fans, photographers, street vendors, babies and animals
seem to lean into what she radiates and work all the harder to keep the
attention coming. ( Her fears are dying of boredom and wearing pantyhose and
being tortured by the squeaky sound of balloons or Styrofoam). Fans compare
DeVoe to Janis Joplin, which she finds flattering but not quite right. DeVoe's vocals
have a wise, raw, human quality that reveal her to be more than a pretty-good-for-
a-local-girl kind of talent. Her lyrics are smart, kooky and often pleasingly simple.
In an industry increasingly hungering for music with emotional complexity and depth -
Jennie DeVoe has it."............written by Cara McDonald, Indianapolis Monthly Magazine....................................................................................................................Redeeming, by Jennie DeVoe
"There's all kinds o' places we could go-
ends of the earth or the other side of the road-
I just want someone to wag their tail
when I walk through the door -
You see I was a girl once on a dashboard in a grass skirt -
you were a long day in a living room -
honest days work and I'd dance for you -
and you'd ask me to move so you could see -
Hawaii five-0 on the TV -
