I am a writer of historical fiction and historical romance and a active member of the Romance Writers of America, Hearts Through History Romance Writers,(HHRW) Maine Romance Writers (MERWA) and the Historical Novel Society.
I am the author of a series continuing the work of Leroux's The Phantom of the Opera. The first book, MADRIGAL, is a Highland Press Publishing release. One cannot tackle continuing a work of classic literature without an impending sense of doom. Doing this dickers with well beloved characters and challenges readers to think beyond the original pages. It must be done with the utmost respect to the original author and his vision.
My books hold true to Gaston Leroux's ideas and are in no way influenced by the wildly popular ideas of Andrew Lloyd Webber or Susan Kay. While there are many sensuous ways to portray this classic character I believe Gaston Leroux did it the best.
My Austrian historicals are set in the mid 19th century during the rise and fall of Kaiser Franz-Josef. My current historical ADELRUNE introduces my readers to a heroine who is a brilliant young composer and happens to be autistic. This book, set in 1866, has been facinating to research--from its roots in music to the history of Aspergers and autism to the life of the royals of the Habsburg empire. I am thrilled with it as I am sure you will be. Release date is forthcoming. My current WIP focuses on the great fire of the Ringstrasse Theater in Vienna, 1881.
If you are interested in authors of unusual historicals I encourage you to visit a joint blog, where several published authors bring history to life in a very unique way. Follow the Unusual Historicals link above.

How your head came to rest
so quietly on my bare shoulder
is still a mystery.
After this time, I do not need to know why,
We are beyond the how of it, too
Here is the fact of it:
we thought of them as moments,
pushing time from one side to the other,
ticking the tiny red beads of days, weeks, months
across the thin wire of an abacus.
Then, we stopped thinking about time,
and the space that divides.
If the mechanics among our friends say,
well, how does this work?
We can rattle on about the calendar,
schedules and date books.
We can make up stories that they would understand,
not caring how they sounded.
Maybe we would tell them about
the electromagnetic love letter
Einstein wrote to his first wife,
imagining the fun they would have on vacation
pondering Helmholtz’s theory of light.
That way, we can keep to ourselves
desire, patience,
something for tomorrow,
a head resting gently
on a bare shoulder.~PdC/2008

He manifested a certain polite refinement toward women and a disdain toward men who were not always willing to forgive him his worldly success. Praise for MADRIGAL: A Novel of Gaston Leroux’s The Phantom of the Opera
"Ms. Linforth has written a love story sure to please Phantom fans old and new alike! ~Amanda Ashley, NYT Best-selling author
Madrigal, by Jennifer Linforth, captures the mystery and sensual essence of Gaston Leroux’s classic, The Phantom of the Opera. We live again in the world of Erik, the masked phantom, and marvel at his complex character—disfigured but irresistible, evil yet loving. We walk in Christine’s footsteps through the streets of glorious Paris. What a treat to revisit these characters and take up the tale where Leroux left off! ~Kathryn M. Johnson, author of over 40 novels
Reading Madrigal by Jennifer Linforth has been a wonderful experience. As a Phantom of the Opera lover, I’ve been able to read all the books based on this story and Ms. Linforth's work including plot, characters, and style makes this novel a gorgeous and unique creation.
Her main story is really original and thrilling from the very beginning to the last page. The action never looses its passion and suspense, guiding the reader through an intense journey. She never forgets Erik belongs to Leroux and his personality and even his dialogues are impregnated with his original essence—a real treasure for Phantom readers. Ms. Linforth's love for the Phantom legend can be felt in every page, in every word which makes her novel a wonderful experience and a delight to the senses. ~Sandra Andrés Belenguer, creator of ladyghost.com
The classic novel aside, this book is a wonderful historical tale of life, love, and choices. However, the most impressive aspect that stands out to me is the writing. Ms. Linforth’s prose is phenomenally beautiful and hauntingly breathtaking.~Read the complete review here: ~ Coffee Time Romance: MADRIGAL
Madrigal: A Novel of Gaston Leroux’s The Phantom of the Opera by Jennifer Linforth is magical, breathtaking, and went well beyond my expectations. I have to admit, I do not know Leroux’s novel, or much about the Phantom beyond his disfigurement and his love for Christine, but Ms. Linforth made me realize that I have truly missed a great story! A perfect read for anyone that would like to know what could have been. ~ 5 Hearts: Book Reviews by Crystal

Hey. I just read a horror book that was pretty darn good for a first book. THE WOLFMAN by Nicholas Pekearo. The style throws you off at first, than you realise it's gritty old school. Like the first werewolf stories.
I think it would make a helluva guy flick if they kept it true to the voice of the author, right from the get go. Sadly, the author was a volunteer NY cop who was gunned down along with his partner. Far as I know, this was his only completed work, and this guy had a true talent. What a waste.
If you know any guys who are looking for a good old school werewolf story, and i do mean OLD SCHOOL this is their book. A hero who isn't heroic, but scarily realistic in his choices.
I have no idea why I picked it up. It' not what I read at all (no HEA porn in it, lol). It just drew me, and then I got sucked in.
Merci beaucoup, bebe Comtess! As always, mon Ange do bless moi in si many ways et I do appreciate all vous have given moi aussi. I wish votre famile a tres joyeux day aussi et mon best to belle Deb!
