Sounds Like
Jennifer Rose ...
Really, a lot of people ask but I am not trying to sound like anyone else.
Obviously the most common comparisons I get by industry insiders and fans are Pat Benatar, Lita Ford, Joan Jett. Several people have also mentioned Shirley Manson (of Garbage). And a few have compared Kelly Clarkson to me, although Kelly is much more pop. There aren't many well-known current female rockers with power vocals.
I tend to be drawn to the strong male rock vocalist - Steven Tyler, Freddie Mercury, Steve Perry, Whitesnake, Michael "Mili" Matijevic (recorded vocals for the move "Rock Star"), Ozzie.
I've been told I do a killer version of "Sweet Child of Mine", though I wouldn't say I sound like Axl Rose of Guns 'N Roses.

To finish things off for this month I’d like you to cast your mind back to
last year and a rather impressive demo from Jennifer Rose (c’mon, admit it,
you remember the picture if nothing else). Well, she’s back and back with a
very impressive debut album called "Alone & Unsupervised". If ever Debbie
Harry got into bed with Lemmy (hey, they’re of a similar age, stranger
things have happened) then lil’ Jen would be their bitchin’ offspring. This
girl was born to rock and this album is the livin’ proof. Songwise, it’s
comparable to the likes of Lita Ford or Pat Benatar but better than anything
that these two ever recorded in the last fifteen years. It’s intelligent
hard rock that never takes itself too seriously. I loved this album and you
can check it out at www.JenniferRoseRocks.com

~ Rock Report - CD Review - Belgium
When I put Ms. Rose's CD in my player for the first time my immediate thoughts were quite simple & straightforward: another gal going the path of the rock-chick, a blending of Blondie's mainstream capabilities & the hard rocking side of Pink. After a few spins however I discovered there was more than met my eye on that initial encounter. Which is already more than a handful, by the way.
Ms. Rose is rocking slightly harder than the competition. Just put on 'Toe 2 Toe', an AC/DC-styled rocker with a voice heavily reminiscent of a young Pat Benatar and you'll understand perfectly what I'm getting at here. Or listen to 'I Go A Little Mental' where the relentless rocking is putting most of her male counterparts to full-on shame.
I'm glad to say that Jennifer Rose provided us with a very refreshing, hard hittin' release in an otherwise very dull musical year.

"I’m going to finish the month with a bang (I should be so lucky). All of you people that have been starved of some good, honest, Female fronted hard rock can look no further than America’s Jennifer Rose. This peroxide powerhouse has come out fighting with a very impressive four-track demo that will evoke memories of Joan Jett, Lita Ford and Pat Benatar. She should also appeal to the likes of Kelly Clarkson’s and Pink’s audience as she has a similar tempo, only with a heavier delivery. She looks good, she’s got memorable songs and she rocks. What more could you ask for? Her phone number, maybe? I like this chick. The music industry needs more like her. Have a listen at www.myspace.com/JenniferRocksTheMic"

Jennifer Rose Rocks in a most WYKKYD way!
It's that deadly combination of sexy, unbelievable musicianship, hard driving energy and charisma! If you love the glory days of femme fatales, like Pat Benatar and Lita Ford but with a modern punch, check out Jennifer Rose!

~ Kelv Hellrazer, Rock and Radio personality, UK
Jennifer Rose comes from a totally different background. You get people who come up with hard rock and they're in the same circles. She's been away from that, so this kind of sounds fresh, it's classy. It's just different from the usual. It's a really classy album.

A special shout out to Steve Price and the crew at ArFM Radio, UK.
Several friends at FireFest 5 have told me that ArFM rocked my tunes out to the crowd in between the live bands.
Thanks Steve, you're awesome!

Where have the female rock artists gone?
Industry insiders say Jennifer Rose is high energy modern hard rock with classic rock influences and say she rocks hard enough that she "puts many male vocalists to shame".
Jennifer Rose was born in San Diego, California where she first started singing for school and community events. For the creative and gifted crowd who found school courses and structure tedious, the music room was the hangout of choice where unstructured and unsupervised hours were spent singing, harmonizing and honing their talents.
Jennifer moved to Orange County to pursue a Vocal Major. While there, she performed lead in several musical theatre productions and operettas. A move to Los Angeles brought more work recording demos and sound tracks for various producers and musicians as well as live performances that included the Hollywood Bowl and a short tour into Canada. And of course lead vocals for the usual array of cover the tribute bands performing all over southern California from small clubs to the Hollywood strip and casinos.
In 2008 Jennifer parted from her previous projects and began work on a 10-song CD of original rock. With a fist full of lyrics in one hand and her life’s savings in the other, Jennifer went in search of a producer who understood her desire to bring back a strong female-rocker figure influenced by the high energy rock of the 80’s. As destiny would have it, a random contact from New York musician/producer Kevin Patrick (Blondie, keyboards, 2001-2008), offered a unique chance for collaboration.
Jennifer Rose has been Clear Channel NEW! Featured Artist on several commercial radio stations around Los Angeles (STAR 98.7, 104.3 MyFM and KISS 102.7 FM) as well as a growing list of magazine and internet reviews and interviews.
The 10-song CD is now available. Songs are receiving extremely positive reaction from fans and industry people around the globe and are currently played on roughly 50+ radio stations in the US, Europe, Canada and South America and soon in Japan. Jennifer Rose songs were also featured in between live bands at FireFest V (UK), 2008. Watch for more upcoming interviews and CD reviews in the UK.
