21-year-old Rock artist Jennifer Szabo only started writing music when she was 19. With just 2 years under her belt she’s managed to compose many unique songs as well as develop an intricate vocal style. And one more thing, she can REALLY play the guitar! Having only played guitar for about a year and a half, her technical abilities can really surprise you.
“I’ve always loved music. The first CD I ever had, was Mariah Carey and I would sing for hours, never really caring if I’d ever become a rock star. I’d daydream about being on stage but for some reason I never considered doing it. A couple years later I got into the grunge rock, alternative scene. I loved STP, Foo Fighters and Incubus.”
Soon after her 19th birthday, she went to her first huge concert in Miami, FL. After watching band after band perform Jennifer then realized her dream could become a reality. A couple months later, she began writing music.
Early this year, Jennifer’s music sparked the interest of Major Label Producer William Smith. Jennifer worked with William on 2 of her songs and successfully recorded “Your Eyes” and “Grunk” at the famed Omni Sound in Nashville, Tenn. Major musical artists Jewel, Bob Dylan and many others have recorded their own hit music at Omni.
Returning home, Jennifer has been busy writing new music, playing many shows, gaining new fans and gaining more interest from the major music industry.
With passion and determination, Jennifer continues to move forward, furthering her musical career and capturing the attention of our hearts. Her deep, thoughtful lyrics are the centerpiece of her art.
“Love is the only thing that keeps me going. Without it in my life, I’d feel so worthless. I’ve felt worthless in my life many times, as we all have. So what’s the point in digging a deeper hole in everyone’s life when I can do my part in bringing hope? At the age of 17, I accepted Christ into my heart. I’ve fallen time and time again, made mistake after mistake but He’s the only consistency my heart has held onto. I’ll never be perfect but He doesn’t expect me to be.”
Whether it’s in a crowded bar, a local venue or Madison Square Garden, we can be sure that Jennifer will always play and sing her heart out with honesty and truth.
