ARTIST STATEMENT. IF I CANNOT LIVE WHERE THE EVERYDAY THOUGHT IS DIFFERENT, THEN I HAVE TO PAINT IT. SHOW ME THE UNSEEN: THE UNEXPECTED. LET ME GET LOST IN A ROOM OF PAINT AND BLANK CANVAS AND I WILL CREATE A WORLD WHERE ANYTHING IS POSSIABLE. EACH OF MY PAINTINGS WHETHER IT BE ON CANVAS OR ON PEOPLE STOP TIME FOR ONLY A SECOND AND ALLOW THE MIND TO BE FREE. MY PAINTINGS ON CANVAS TAP INTO MY PASSION FOR POETRY AS I USE A LOT OF WRIITEN WORD IN A MAJORITY OF MY PIECES. I ALSO HAVE A LOVE FOR SCULPTURE AND ADD THAT THIRD DIMENSION TO MY PIECES AS WELL. BODY PAINTING IS A PASSION THAT AWAKENS SO MANY EMOTIONS AS I DO FAVOR PAINTING ON PEOPLE COMPARED TO CANVAS SOMETIMES, FOR AS WITH EVERY MOVEMENT THE MODEL MAKES A NEW EMOTION IS BROUGHT TO LIFE FOR ME CAPTURED WITH MY CAMERA AND TURNED INTO ART. Vitalia, raised by a family passionate for abstract art, was exposed to a variety of mixed mediums at a very early age. Almost immediately, she established the ability to tap into the emotions of the human body through texture and the written word and has continued to cultivate her talents to the present day. Passionate about not only painting but also sculpture, Vitalia’s work is only enhanced by her love of poetry, and sincere adoration for her Italian American heritage.
Possessing great inner strength, Vitalia is renowned for her ability to create such incredibly vivid imagery using a variety of different mediums and materials including: acrylic, oil pastels, and enamel or spray on canvas. Abstaining from detailed expressions in her figured works, Vitalia inspires viewers to embrace their own imaginations in dramatically painted splendor.
