Jennifer Wardrop started her stand-up comedy career in August of 2006 at the age of 37. She started her myspace page shortly after that. She had previous comedic experience in 1999 when she was a member of a local, Maryland, Toastmasters Club and made it to the regional, final round of a humorous speech contest in Delaware. Sadly, she did not win. The person who did win, CLEARLY CHEATED, by using an internet joke instead of original material. Bitter and a huge, sore loser, comedy from Jen Wardrop would have to wait another 7 years.
Since August of 2006, Jen has taken some comedy instruction seminars, read many books on the subject of comedy, and watched a lot of comedy on TV, the internet, movies purchased from Amazon.com and in comedy clubs, open mics, and hole-in-the-walls.
A true student-of-the-craft, Jen will perform anywhere.
Jen is 80% Scottish, 10% Irish, 10% English (Prima Nocta). It just keeps getting whiter. That’s the first joke she ever wrote. If she were taller, skinnier, prettier and younger, she would probably be a Deal or No Deal Model or a Mafia Princess.
She has 4 dogs and 2 cats. They are all rescued. Check her pics! She has to vacuum her house a lot. Lint rollers make a nice gift.
Although she’s just a NEWBIE in the world of comedy, she loves all things comedic. She still likes to use the "thumbs up sign", the "rock on sign" and the "peace sign"; sometimes consecutively.
She was born in Rochester, NY, lived there for 4 years. Then she lived in Pittsfield, ME for 7 years. Maine is beautiful and cold. She learned to ski and cut down Christmas Trees there, but she does not like lobster. Then she lived in Phoenix, AZ for 10 years. Arizona is beautiful and hot. She went to private school there. She thinks more jobs should require uniforms. She played Softball in high school. She did not play tennis or golf or swim. She was, however, forced to take those in P.E. She also took many years of Spanish. There is not too much you can do with Spanish after school. There is a lot you can do with Softball. Then she moved to Catonsville, MD, and has lived here for 18 years. She feels she doesn’t fit in there because she doesn’t like crabs and beer or Ocean City.
She has an addictive personality. Crunchy Cheetos, flattery and 80’s music will get you everywhere.
