Jennings Grove is a free online serial novel by Jeff Parish, available through Graveside Tales.

When Vernon Hamilton loses his job and prospects for employment in Houston dry up, he moves his family to a small community in far north Texas. As the sun sets, they discover just how dark the country can get away from big city lights, and they learn the darkness of Jennings Grove isn't like other places. It's alive, and it hungers. Can Vernon save his family from the night in his new home? Can he even save himself?

I want candy ...
I want cookies ...
I want brains ...
I want bacon ...
Can you give me
Something full
Of all the stuff
That's bad for me?

Trick or treat
Smell my feet
Give me something
Good to eat.
Like your brains.......

'Twas the night of Halloween
And all through the house
Every creature was stirring
Even the mouse.

Naught much more was to be said
All the monsters were fit to escape
Even those that were certainly dead
Wanted to play with the giant ape.

And here we all are now
Awaiting the last doom
Everything is all ready
Even the silent tomb.

Peace.
Post.
Poetry.

Happy Halloween and have a hell of a good time!
