Jenni Schaefer is an internationally known author and speaker whose work has helped change the face of recovery from eating disorders.
Her breakthrough best-seller, "Life Without Ed: How One Woman Declared Independence from Her Eating Disorder and How You Can Too" (McGraw-Hill), popularized an approach that enables men and women to personify their illness (Jenni called hers "Ed," short for "Eating Disorder") and "divorce" themselves from it. Her latest book, "Good-Bye Ed, Hello Me: Recover from Your Eating Disorder and Fall in Love with Life" (to be released in September 2009 by McGraw-Hill), takes the journey a step farther, from recovery to liberation.
Jenni is a regular guest on national radio and television shows including "Dr. Phil" and "Entertainment Tonight," a contributor to mainstream magazines and collections like the "Chicken Soup" series, and a popular speaker at schools, conferences, and other venues. She is also a consultant with Center For Change in Orem, Utah, and a member of the Ambassador Council of the National Eating Disorders Association. Her work has been recognized in publications including "Cosmopolitan," the "Chicago Tribune," "The Washington Post" and "Woman's World."
A singer/songwriter living in Nashville, Tennessee, Jenni uses both music and humor in her outreach efforts to help those touched by eating disorders. She is, she says, "single in the city," enjoying a life she considers a gift to be treasured.

Got your new book, "Goodbye Ed, Hello Me". Started reading it and absolutely love it. It's become my second bible with "Life Without Ed" being my first. That book had been a BIG help in my recovery and has kept me grounded so many times like with today. So yesterday I ate so much candy until I was like over stuffed because it was Halloween and Ed thought I should restrict but no, I didn't. I ate breakfast. My body will adjust and after all Halloween is only once a year and holidays of course revolve around food but they're only certain days once a year so it's all good. I told my fiance that whenever I'm feeling down and wanting to go back to Ed to just hand me one of your books. That always seems to help. Thank you! Take care!
Hey hon, I got your new book and so far I love it. Then i'm going to let me friend read it. She struggles too. But she is having a harded time them me. We both really enjoyed the frist one. I hope all is well with you hon. I think you need to come to Portland, oregon sometime. I would love to see you talk :) hope all is well and take care.
Thank you for putting yourself out there to help so many other people that means a lot to me. Your a very sweet and caring person. thank you!
Your heart’s desire may it soar. And bring you love filled life and more. While happiness lines up to knock at your door. Understand that is what I am here for.
You are precious to me as the golden sands That echo in the distance in foreign lands Where treasures abound throughout the night By saying what you mean and getting it right.
The deepest most sought after treasure of all Is what you’ll find inside your heart to call Whenever you feel the joy of someone Who cares for you as the earth looks to the sun.
This is what I share with you to tell Because I found that by wishing you well The space between us becomes even less And time becomes only now where there is happiness
Think of forever when you think of me For that is where I will always be Cheering you on with all my might And seeing the love shine back its light

I bought your new book "Hello Me, Goodbye Ed" and can't wait to read it...I am a recovering Anorexic! I have been in and out of recovery for 12 years now and want it to be gone for good so I can live my life...you inspire me greatly!
PROFILEANGELS.COM You have such great voices and I could hear you constantly. I like this music. Hoff, even more of you to hear. Love Greetings from Germany.
I absoloutly can not wait to read the book. I keep life without ed with me all the time. I just wish that I could have heard you speak when you came to Iowa State a few years ago. Unfortunatly I was at a different school. However, I know that I will see you speak sometime in the near future. Right Now I am at the University of Arizona getting my masters and looking to get involved with ED awareness down there.
Good luck with everything, I know you stay quite busy!
Rummor has it you are coming out with a new book! I can't wait, Life w/o Ed is so amazing. I have suggested it to so many people and everyone who has read it has loved it. I love the book branches out to so many different areas. It speaks to those struggling with all sorts of emotional difficulties not just those with eating disorders. Life w/o Ed is the only ED book I have read that does not say "Here's why you have and ED." "Here's how to fix it." Which is amazingly refreshing.
You are a very inspiring person in my heart...ever since I met you at CFC and heard you speak it has given me what I need to keep pushing towards recovery. Thanks.
I would like to thank you for the digital friendship, and hope that I hear more about you over time, have a nice day !!!!! Farthais Denmark Hugs Farthais
