   About Jenny Crook

Jenny Crook is regarded as one of the finest Celtic harp players in Britain.

Her playing has been featured on Peter Gabriels Realworld label on albums by international artists such as Susana Baca and Joji Hirota. She has been a stage guest with Mercury Award winner Susheela Raman, and kora player Moussa Kouyate, and performed with Luke Daniels and Eleanor Shanley in "A History's Rhyme" for the English National Opera. Working with songwriters such as Amy Wadge, Andy Davis (Korgis/Goldfrapp) and Andy West in The Rainkings, Jenny has taken the harp into the territory of rock, country and blues. Jenny has lead harp classes and workshops internationally and is much sought after as a teacher.

A finalist in the Radio 2 Young Tradition Award in 1993, her first group Cythara, with hammered dulcimer player Maclaine Colston, performed the music for David Attenborough's TV series The Private Life of Plants and made appearances on BBC 1s Pebble Mill and Summer in the City and on national radio. She formed celtic pop/rock band Madigan in 1996, and then continued to work on the international folk/roots circuit as a duo with multi-instrumentalist Henry Sears and later with bass player and singer Miranda Sykes (Show of Hands).

Jenny has performed at concerts and festivals for many years – most recently on electro-harp with the funky world fusion band Elephant Talk.

Jenny is now concentrating on her songwriting and is currently working on her debut solo album. Visit Jenny's songwriting Myspace for more info: myspace.com/jennifercrook

Hey Jenny - how's thing's??? Haven't seen or heard you for a while. Haven't been getting around much as I've spent what seems like forever at home with the kids. However, I'm finally getting back into the music thing with a new duo 'Leski'. I'd really appreciate it if you'd have a listen to the tracks on our myspace thingy & let us know what you think. Thanks. X
