Sounds Like
Alt-Country Folk Rock, swampy and driving, kinda like Lucinda Williams on steroids. Or, Steve Stills in a dress, but without the drugs. Or, the love-child of Ry Cooder & Memphis Minnie. Or....well, just exactly like the music you hear when you click on that jukebox thingy right there.
A San-Francisco-meets-Nashville-by-way-of-Bakersfield sound with detours on the Great American Highway through Tijuana, Beale Street, Kentucky and the Mississippi Delta along the way. A generous heap 'o country, blues, twang and roots, tossed in the blend.
A multi-instrumentalist as well as a poetic and passionate songwriter, Jenny Kerr is known for foot-stomping live shows and powerful, authentic voice. Kerr is a skilled player of fingerstyle guitar, clawhammer banjo, harmonica, piano, and dobro. Together with her band of road-tested rogues, she delivers a seasoned yet spirited sound with forays into swamp rock, straight-up soul, backwater honky tonk, and old-time blues. Her modern roots sound is steeped in contemporary production values, but informed by the eclecticism particular to that time, stretching the boundaries of genre, style, and race.

Hey there Jenny...absolutely LOVING your songs. Thanks for the free downloads of "Suzy's Blues" & "Sally Let Your Hair Down". BTW, if you hear a strange echo of "Suzy's Blues" in early August out there...it's me playing it. God I love that song.
Last time we talked, I think I'd asked if you were sure that you weren't from Texas....now, after hearing your haunting and BEAUTIFUL "Sally Let Your Hair Down", I have to ask....are you sure you aren't from somewhere in Appalachia? Love the guitar work in that one too....kudos to your compadre...El Senor "Philbillie"....most excellent.
Hi Jenny, I'm very proud to be your friend now. Well, you sound amazing. Gonna hold that line. Greetings from Last Waterhole, Dirt Farm, Austria. Stay well and take care, I'll come back soon.
