*Jenny Rieu has cultivated a passion for the Art, since a very young age. Her love for the Art doesn't only include music and acting, or writing but also dancing, painting, modeling.
One of her favourite quote "That's not about me, that's all about the Art." defines her ability to dedicate herself entirely to the process of creation in so many different ways.
In 1991, she began piano lessons, which she quicly gave up to focus on her main instrument: her voice.
*Therefore, three years later she's met with Astrig Dedeyan (A Vocal teacher specialized in Opera from the Maurice Ravel Conservatory),who she still calls her mentor. Astrig Dedeyan gave her the opportunity to grow up as a Vocalist and work on her Soprano voice, with classical and contemporary artists such as : Alessandro Scarlatti, George Gerswin, Charles Gounod, Maurica Ravel, et aussi B. Lütgen.
Regarding Writing, Jenny began her journey with a simple diary that she kept during her entire adolescence and in which novels or poems started to blossom. Some of which got her selected in several writing contests.
*So, In 2001, with the semi-autobiographical piece called : "Jenny Rieu" Jenny becomes a Finalist to an International Writing Contest called Writemovies.com. This contest seeks from young writers and adapt their pieces in Hollywood productions.
*Then with "Héloïse's ghosts", Jenny wins the 3rd place of a National Writing Contest called "Sable Noir 7ème romancier".
*In 2002, she meets with the acting coach Amy Werba who directs the acting course at the American University of Paris and The Bilingual Acting School (B.A.W). This allows Jenny to improve on her stage performances and work on her expressions while either acting or performing on stage. With Amy Werba, Jenny explores both Drama and Comedy, as an actress and gives representations at the Theater Lavoir Graal of Paris, in two plays: " The Winged man" from José Riviera and for the first time "Women of Manhattan" from John Patrick Shanley.
That same year, Jenny performed for the first time on stage two songs that she wrote : "She's gone" (A tribute to Aaliyah) and "Gimme a break", a music track now recognizable for its weird but dancing beat.
Jenny's musical career doesn't end there, since she went to the studio again in 2006 and recorded a duet mixing her deep voice to the roots of hip hop by collaborating with French-American rapper Jelly , on the track "In Da Club" produced by DJ Brisco.
*After all these experiences and years spent just as a little extra in film productions such as "Chris Conty" from Benöît Finck, "La Vie d'Astistes" from Marc Fitoussi ,"How to lose friends and alienate people" from Robert B. Weide or latley "Le Code a Changé" from Danièle Thompson, "la Fille du R.E.R" from André Téchiné, "Seuls Two" from Eric Bedia, "Un Simple Espion" from Nicolas Saada or "Mes Stars et Moi" from Laetitia Colombani, Jenny obtained her first acting parts in two Independant feature films and other films projects. During the summer 2007, she acted in movies such as: "Playing Doctor" from Jazzmyn Banks and "Chasing the green" from Russ Emanuel.
*In 2008, she also obtained small parts in two projects: a the TV film called "Rien dans les poches" by Marion Vernoux, produced by Alain Chabat for the Canal+ Network. And also a music video "No Justice" produced by Luc Besson and made in response to a controversial video made by the French electro band Justice.
*Moreover, Jenny has showed her wide range of emotions in two completely different short-movies, in which she played during the summer of 2008. Namely, a Comedy called "Desires" by Emmanuel Erida and a Drama called "Qui N'aime pas Ne Tue pas" by Tiara Curi Felix based on the novel of the Brazilian writer Claudio Simoes.
*Lately, Jenny went behind the camera and co-produced her first short-movie "Sweet Ana" from the American artist Jaya Bludeau.
She is currently writing the script of her first short-movie as a director-writer-composer and actress "Kidnapping".
*Ultimately, her moving performance on the stage of the prestigious Prince of Wales Theater in London, with remarkable pieces such as Antigone (Sophocles) and Women in Manhattan (John Patrick Shanley) got her accepted to the prestigious American Academy of Dramatic Arts (A.A.D.A), a Conservatory based in New York, starting this fall 2008.
*NB: Jenny made appearances in more than twelve music videos for artists such as Sheryl Gambo (Essi Di Ya)
Angie Stone (Baby), Swiss featuring D-Boy (Nach Ke), Asteren (Femmes, Femmes), Kwak (Et Alors quoi?), Kool Shen (Pourquoi je reviens), Yelle (Je Veux Te Voir), Gop Virk Featuring Laddi (One Peg More), Sixcoups (Pes), or lately a music video entitled "No Justice" (NJ) made by Rachid Dhibou(Dog Productions)and produced by internationally acclaimed filmmaker Luc Besson, in response to a controversial music video made by the French-electro band Justice.
