Jenny Smith, originally form Hull, began to take an active interest in jazz at the age of 16 when she and four school friends formed a jazz quintet. Later that year she was invited to sing and tour with the Hull Youth Jazz Orchestra.
In 2003 Jenny moved to Leeds to undertake a BA in jazz studies. She is currently gigging in and around Leeds with various jazz and pop ensembles, including the well-established function band 'Fine and Mellow' and new function band 'All Night Long'.
Jenny's credits include touring with the theatre show 'Swing Fever', girl singer with the 'Al Wood Big Band', front singer for 'Rhythm Nation', singing backing vocals for 'Marisa Turner' (ex Chaka Kahn singer) and Tower of Power tribute band 'Soul Vaccination'.

I hope all is well - just noticed you and Hannah have a gig in Chapel A in July - gutted, I'm away on holiday!
You'll have to sort yourselves out another so I can attend!

I really want to go and listen to you and Kari on the Friday, and Anita Wardell on the Sat, and maybe the Sunday people too, and was wondering how you were getting there and if you were staying for the weekend?

yeah deff catch up some time...im off wrking abroad again from June, so hopefully sometime before then, im currently in the process of planning a year long trip to new zealand, and then in a couple of years im going round the world, so its a bit save save save right now...but hey such as the life of a traveller! have an amazing time away, im well jealous but take care la! xxx
