James Gang, Cactus, Mountain, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Cream, The Yardbirds, Led Zeppelin, The Allman Brothers Band, The Derek Trucks Band, Gov't Mule, The Muggs, Howling Diablos, MC5, Detroit Wheels, Pink Floyd, Frogwings, Pearl Jam, Stevie Ray Vaughan, John Mayer, BB King, Albert Collins, Eric Clapton, Damon Fowler, Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers, and pretty much any other good bands.....
My name is JJ Jensen and I'm a 22 y/o Rock Guitarist from Central Florida.
My influences are pretty wide ranging, including but not limited to Led Zeppelin, Cream, Hendrix, Derek Trucks Band, Gov't Mule, Black Crowes, Allman Bros Band, John Mayer Trio, Dave Matthews Band, The Roots, The Muggs, Galactic, Grace Potter and The Nocturnals, and pretty much any other good rock/blues/funk/soul groups.
I've been playing guitar for about 15 years, and I would say that my biggest influences are Jimmy Page, Joe Walsh, Danny Methric of The Muggs, SRV, and Rich Robinson. I love playing live, love being on stage in front of people, and love being around a group of guys that really know how to be creative.
I have completely pro gear. I use Peavey amps exclusively, Hughes & Kettner cabinets, and am sponsored by Midnight Lace Guitars. I use Dunlop straps, picks, and slides, and Ernie Ball strings.
I've played with several major Central FL including Hello Revolution, RoadBlock, Gitlo Blues Band, and Back Bay Freeway, along with playing with some very big names in the local community musician wise. I've played the WHTQ Blues-B-Q with RoadBlock in front of 4,000+ people, I've recorded a DVD at FullSail, and played with members of BB King's House Band. I've opened for several major artists, including KoKo Taylor, Robert Cray, Smokin Joe Kubek, and have many connections and business talents that I feel could be a major asset to any band.
I am single, debt and drama free. I own all of my own gear, have reliable transportation (2004 Ford F150), commercial marketability, and many other talents. I bring a very keen marketing talent to any group I perform with, and a huge book of contacts in the local scene to book gigs and help generate exposure. I ran a business from 2004-2006, so I know how to promote and grow a band as a business.
I am looking to join an original band that has a vision and drive for where they are going. I want to be able to be creative and add my own sound to the music. I've done the whole "playing with prima donnas" and big ego's, and I'm over it. I'm looking to play out absolutely as much as possible.
Please contact me via myspace or at my email (apkguitarist@gmail.com). Look forward to hearing from you.
