i've played my melodramatic blend of torn heart, wondering soul, folky rock for a long while now and i've even been privileged to open for some truly inspired songwriters including ellis paul and rory block. i got to open for the jazz mandolin project a bunch of times back in the day and part of me has maybe always wanted to go jammy at their influence ,but truth is i love the three minute pop song. my music has landed in strange places that I have loved: biker bars, abandoned air fields, ice cream shops, apple barns, and even on the same compilation cd as a song by paul stuckey from peter, paul and mary. i owe great and wondrous things to all who have listened over the years in all of those strange places and to the musicians who have so caringly added their magic to songs of mine. without the members of the jen spingla band and most recently blame it on tina, jenspinglamusic would only exist in the abandoned, concrete block building of my mind.
