I don't know if that is the point of this kind of music, but what is art supposed to be if it is completely unenjoyable?"

| About Jeremiah Cymerman |
My name is Jeremiah Cymerman (pronounced SIMMER-MAN). I play the clarinet and live in New York City. The bulk of the music that I play is improvised (i.e. not written or composed prior to performance, although some of it is). I am very interested in solo performance and extended technique, and as contrived as it sounds, I like the idea of creating, or at least contributing to, a new language for clarinet. I am sure that as time passes my interests will change. I have struggled for a long time to create a bio that does more than just list achievements and people with whom I have performed. At the same time I want to avoid some sort of ironic “I don’t give a shit” one sheet that seems to predominate in the land of Myspace, the land where we are all superstars.
