Jeremiah Maxey started playing guitar in 1995. He started playing lap steel and guitar for several church bands. In 1997 Jeremiah and his father Glenn started playing as an acoustic guitar duo, Jeremiah on Slide, Lead guitar, and vocals, and Glenn on rhythm guitar. They have played local venues in the Salt Lake City area for the past eight years.
Jeremiahs guitar style is unique in the fact that he is missing his right arm below the elbow. He tunes his guitars in open tunings and plays them in his lap. He soon expanded to play electric and upright bass, dobro, lap steel, guitar, mandolin, autoharp, walkabout dulcimer, harmonica, and piano. His speed and slide control have made him at only the age of twenty two a guitarist to watch. Along with the ever steady rhythm section provided by Glenn Maxeys guitar is a force to be reckoned with.
The two currently play original music by Jeremiah and also covers of Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Gram Parsons and other as well as having some blues up there sleeves from time to time. They are working on there first CD entitled Single Handed and continue to play venues in Utah. Over the past eight years they have played at Burt's Tiki Lounge, Zanzibar, Bistro 412, Miners Park Plaza Park City, The Exchange, The Hard Rock Cafe, Gepettos, The Firehouse, Sun and Moon Café, Deer Valley, Blue Kats, Dragonfly Café, The Grand America, The Grand Building at the fairgrounds, The Salt Lake and Park City Farmers Markets, Corporate gigs, and private parties, as well as having had gigs at the 2005 utah arts festival, 2005 and 2006 Utah State Fair and 2006 earth jam. They embrace everything about acoustic music and love to play together. Two guitars, three hands, one amazing acoustic show.

Miah, dude Too Far Gone sounds fucking killer with the drums! And I'm sorry I didn't make it to your gig with your new band when you called me. I've been way broke. But my landscaping gig is starting to pick up again for the new season and the cash flow should be more prominent starting very soon. I see you guys are playing again in March so I will definitely try and make that one. Give me a call and remind me a couple of days before hand if you remember. Not that that has done any good for you in the past but what can ya do. Anyway man, hope all is well and hit me up if your down in slc before your next show and we'll kick it. I'm still living in the Ave's by Dani's boyfriend so I'm in your vicinity. And tell your folks I said hi. -Spencer
