Bio
Jeremiah Nelson is recording artist and touring singer-songwriter based in Madison, WI. A few months spent writing and recording music in a South Madison warehouse yielded a dynamic new batch of tunes, ranging from amplified rants to whispery pop songs, which later became the full length release, "Take Me Down the Interstate".. After recruiting Adam Cargin (drums/vox), Landon Arkens Landon Arkens (bass) and Justin Bricco from Blueheels, the band became known as Jeremiah Nelson & the Achilles' Heel.
Going right for the central nerve, the title track climaxes over clanging guitars,
“Tell me what are you supposed to do? / First you’re dumb and in love then you’re old and immune... / Every place feels the same / It’s just another stop on the Intestate.”
The album is a testament to life on the road, drunken sing-a-longs and hard-earned thinly-spread paychecks. It’s not for the faint hearted but its dog-eared charm should resonate with folks who have been through the wringer a couple times.
Currently, Nelson is staying close to home working on a new full length with The Achilles' Heel. You can catch him every Tuesday at Mickey's Tavern in the Willy St. neighborhood of Madison with Blake Thomas.
Here's a list of carefully selected flowery quotes about Take me down the Interstate (originally released under Patchwork):
Press "Heartfelt, high-quality stuff - mixed with a little smoke, whiskey and grizzle" My Old Kentucky Blog
"It's easy to fall in love with Jeremiah Nelson's sound" Muzzle of Bees
"Interstate seems born out of an improvisational spirit and the beautifully bittersweet meeting of daydreaming and reality." Capital Times
If you haven't already heard of/listened to, I think you might like:
Edie Brickell's "Circle" and Jackie Greene's "Shaken"
Have you heard of them? Do you like them? I could POSSIBLY see some influence outta of these songs and your music....if you haven't already heard of them listen to them, and regardless, I'm curious, what do you think?
