One of the newest violin voices to hit the bluegrass scene, Jeremy Abshire was born on September 1, 1981 in Akron, Ohio. Jeremy’s interest in the fiddle was sparked at a young age by his Grandfather, who brought him to a Kenny Baker performance at a local Grange Hall. The following day, his Grandfather gave him a fiddle and some records, which inspired and influenced Jeremy’s playing and style. At the age of 10, Jeremy began four years of classical training. Despite his ability in classical music, his capacity and passion for the rhythms and twang of bluegrass were undeniable. A ‘self-taught’ fiddler, Jeremy learned most from long hours spent listening to and studying other fiddle players both on record and in person.
As a teenager, Jeremy’s sensational bluegrass stylings dazzled and dominated a stage traditionally reserved for older musicians. He played with many bands local to Northeast Ohio while competing in and winning many fiddle contests statewide. In 2004, Jeremy joined Kentucky-based Billie Renee and Cumberland Gap, who won the SPBGMA band championship in 2006. In 2007, Jeremy gladly accepted an invitation to play with one of the finest female voices in bluegrass today; Dale Ann Bradley. His first appearance with Dale Ann was at the World Famous Station Inn for her “Catch Tomorrow” album release on March 16, 2007. This highlight event featured a fantastic guest appearance by Alison Krauss.
As intuitive as it is intense, Jeremy’s fiddling respects the melody and brings the fiddle to life by unleashing an expressive effulgence of embellishment and creativity. Jeremy’s musical talent also extends to the mandolin and guitar. When he isn’t jamming, he can be found mountain biking, hiking, climbing, or even whitewater rafting. Now that Jeremy has hit the modern bluegrass music scene, you can expect to hear great things from him in the future! Jeremy Abshire is currently touring with The GRASCALS across the U.S. Jeremy proudly endorses D'Addario Strings.
It won't be long till you're sitting next to me and the Canfield on a rented Kona Stab Garbanzo wrapped in body armor with your helmet straps dangling staring at the first drop-in of the day going "Ughh That!" Five days J. Seven Springs is the destination. Bring your A-game...and a bologna sandwich for me.

Im ok. Did you know we had the baby? Stacy was listening to you playing with someone on YouTube. Im not sure with who. Chris loved it. He tells everyone he wants to be like Jeremy. lol.. We bought him a fiddle and he plays it 24/7. I guess we will see you Friday. Stacy plays in Hyden this weekend. Maybe Chris can actually meet his Idol... LoL...
How are you.. I haven't seen you in forever. It looks like your staying busy... Having fun playing with the Grascals? Chris heard you playing fiddle last night and he told Stacy he want to play fiddle just like that guy does....
Saturday night I went to Mike Prater's bonfire pickin' shindig. I stood in awe as I listened to Dave and Mike Prater mix that straight Prater vocal power with Joe Beaner melting those smooth Beaner-tone notes underneath. They did "Lord, I'm Just A Pilgrim" and it was some of the most intense trio singing I've ever heard...period. I tried calling you so you could hear the ferocious blend but Sprint decided to fail me at the critical moment and wouldn't connect to the damn tower. I'm always wishing you were around to hang and see or hear stuff that I do, but son, I seriously wish you coulda been there to experience that. Those boys got immaculate blend.
Hey stranger....I tried calling you when i was in nashville...congrats on everything...i am so happy for you! When it isn't all so crazy...drop me a line....
