   About Jeremy Diffey
Jeremy Diffey has been playing a wide range of instruments for over 20 years, and has been performing for large audiences for at least 15 of those years.
He plays saxophones, clarinets and flutes, EWI, as well as keyboards, vocals, guitar and percussion.

In the last few years he has honed his skills in both performance and composition, and the current band he is performing with showcases his original works in a small group setting. His arrangements and/or original compositions have been performed by the Darryl McKenzie Jazz Orchestra, the Royal Australia Air Force band, the Matt Amy Really Big Band, on The Singing Bee (Australia) and by a huge number of singers and instrumentalists worldwide.
Drawing from influences ranging from Coltrane and Adderley, to Stevie Wonder, Kenny Garrett and Courtney Pine, his music takes modern jazz and gives it a distinctive groove.

He has a number of projects on the go at the moment... Whether it's writing for his original jazz/funk project (the Jeremy Diffey Quintet) or any number of singers and musicians around the world, or performing as his alter-ego "Pierre Smirnoff" (from swing band Pierre Smirnoff & The Dirty Martinis) he always brings a distinctive groove and vitality to his music.

Jeremy is the saxophonist on the hit Channel 9 game show, The Singing Bee.

Have a listen to a couple of his original works, and you'll be wanting to hear more! His debut album "The Jeremy Diffey Quintet - Groovin' Live" (Ubergroove) will be released in stores soon. To pick up a copy, visit the iTunes store at
JEREMY'S DEBUT ALBUM...HMM...THAT SOUNDS GOOD!
Go on - you know you wanna click on that link...

Jeremy plays with the Jazz Funk quintet "The Jivecrank" (www.myspace.com/jivecrank).

The Jivecrank play enrgetic funky tunes that are great to dance to!
You can also hear Jeremy playing as the resident saxophonist at Circus nightclub (Commercial Rd, Prahran) jamming out to funky house and electro with some of Melbourne's finest djs!

Jeremy is an Akai Pro artist - performing on the Akai EWI4000S. This funky instrument allows him to perform with a hugely varied tonal palette. It can be used in different styles of music - from modern jazz to electro house! It features heavily in the sound of the Jivecrank, in his dj sets, and in the Jeremy Diffey Quintet...

Jeremy plays Selmer Paris clarinets - he plays a Selmer Recital clarinet, and a Selmer bass clarinet from the 1950's.

Jeremy plays Pearl flutes - he plays a Pearl Dolce flute with a Largo headjoint.
