About Jeremy Holtom Classical

In the 19th Century, the romantic era of classical music, the stars of the day were the equivalent to rock stars in our age. The last 50 or 60 years has seen classical music being sterilised and played so "correctly" with the primary objective being technical accuracy and perfection rather than expressing the energy and passion of the music. Jeremy has always hated this way of playing which only appeals to a relatively small audience who live with music in their head rather than their heart.

Music should touch the soul and it is more important to project the emotion of the music rather than to play it with absolute technical perfection. Striving for technical perfection often kills the emotion of the performance.

When classical music is played from the heart rather than the head it engages everyone from across the age spectrum.

Jeremy's albums express the deep and diverse experiences of his life, from great joy to painful tragedy.
