SHORT FILMS WHICH FEATURE MY MUSIC
I, Jeremy Lev, operate this myspace page, so here is my personally written bio. Short and sweet.
From a young age, I’ve immersed myself in music. It all started with listening to classical music and studying violin at 4 years old. Over the years, I would study trumpet, piano, voice, and guitar.
Music remained a hobby until college where I started writing songs and performing in various venues in North Carolina. People said I had a unique sound. “His voice is distinctive, his pitch is excellent, and his phrasing is unlike any musician I've ever heard.”
While in college at UNC-Chapel Hill, I spent one summer at Berklee College of Music, one summer in Prague, and one year in Southern France. I encountered a powerful combination of persons, places, and events during these times, which inspired me both musically and personally. At Berklee, I worked on my musical chops. In Prague, I exposed myself to concepts of global citizenship and purposeful living. In France, I lived passionately, listened to my heart, and performed live music. I wrote a lot of songs about these times.
After returning to the US and graduating from college, I put my degree to the side and started pursuing a music career.
In fall 2006, I released my debut album, “Rhythms From Another Summer.” From fall ’06 to summer ‘07, I toured throughout the southeast. In summer 2007, I moved to New York City where I performed in renowned venues such as The Bitter End, Rockwood Music Hall, and The Living Room. I collaborated with outstanding musicians, improved my songwriting, and enjoyed the city. After one year in NYC, I moved to Los Angeles.
I came to LA to pursue song placement and composing opportunities in TV and Film. I continued to perform live and recorded a new EP.
For the EP, I teamed up with producer Steve Weisberg (Howard Tate, Marianne Faithful) to record “Invocations.”. Invocations is a 5-song album of beautifully arranged ballads, which mixes thoughtful lyrics and intoxicating melodies with jazzy folk-pop elements. It was recorded at the world renowned Village Studios in Los Angeles. It features David Piltch (kd Lang, Bill Frisell) on bass and Danny Frankel (Fiona Apple, Beck) on drums. Most noteworthy is the gorgeous string quartet which brings the songs to life with a melancholy richness that emphasizes my distinct sound and songwriting.
As I'm writing it's summer 2009 and I am living in North Carolina. As time goes on I'll add to this bio. Keep in touch and maybe our paths will cross along the way.

Check out one of the finished tracks on my page - How Careful. Let me know what you think. How's LA treating you? I might find myself out there one of these days. You going to stay awhile?
