General
I've played music for as long as I can remember. I'm a big Dodgers fan, like to play almost any sport. Bar games are the best though, foosball, darts, pool, even shuffleboard. I'm caught up in the online poker craze. I could go pro as a ping pong player, not a problem. I should mention I play in a couple of bands(San Similar, Jackie Greene) and various music projects as time permits.
Music
Music dominates my life, so this is a never ending list. The Beatles, Wilco, Jimi Hendrix, The Band, Radiohead, Jeff Buckley, Mother Hips, Ours, Allman Brothers Band, Martin Sexton, Willy Porter, Ian Moore, Neil Young, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Led Zeppelin, Chris Whitley, Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, Jellyfish, Black Crowes, The Shins, Gov't Mule, Rolling Stones, Jayhawks, Cream, Derek Trucks, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Pink Floyd, Steely Dan, Merle Haggard, Stone Temple Pilots, The Doors, Bad Company, Free, Humblie Pie, Faces, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Gram Parsons, The Byrds, Elvis Costello, Little Feat, Big Star, Cake, Mojave 3, Pavement, Dr. Dog, Low,...my hand cramped.
Movies
The Shawshank Redemption, Arlington Road, etc...I also like the thought provoking: The Jerk, Blazing Saddles, Dumb and Dumber, Joe Dirt...but lately I've been on this tearjerker kick. American Beauty, Magnolia, Eternal Sunshine, Punch Drunk Love, The Big Lebowski, Sling Blade, Dazed and Confused, The Stoned Age, Manhattan, Being There, Crimes and Misdemeanors, There Will Be Blood, Big Fish, The Money Masters is a must see
Television
I grew up on the likes of Small Wonder, Mr. Belvedere, Charles In Charge, Out Of This World, Punky Brewster, Saved By The Bell, My Two Dads(groundbreaking) and The Dukes Of Hazzard. CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM!!! The Colbert Report, The Office, Dodger baseball games.
Books
I read a lot of books about musicians...those don't really count, except for in book-a-thons, and seeing how I'm not in one, I'll exclude those. But if you hear of one, let me know. My favs are Atlas Shrugged, Catch 22, Tropic of Cancer, Animal Farm, Ron Paul's Revolution:A Manifesto, any Alan Watts book or lecture is enlightening. I recently made a pact that I would go back and read all the high school required books that I cliff noted my way through. We'll see if that happens...
Heroes
My heroes have always been cowboys... I would be remiss if I didn't mention my parents here, too. I sometimes eat gyros.
