| | Movies | Too many to mention... a few honorables:
- Star Wars Episodes IV,V,VI... the pre-special (education) editions, of course.
- Episode III was the stuff dreams are made of.
- I wept through all of the Lord of the Rings movies, since it was my dream to make them into a trilogy of films and Peter Jackson et al managed to actually do justice to the books...
- I also cried through the last half of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe.
- Dead Poets Society. Robin Williams is brilliant.
- Toy Soldiers Complete guilty pleasure. I like Sean Astin. Sue me.
- Goonies (see above... oh, Cory Feldman (as "mouth") is the man)
- Resident Evil 1 & 2 (so much fun)
- Equilibrium Screw the Matrix, this rules.
- The Matrix Ok, it's cool too, but the sequels were laaaame. (pretty, but laaaame).
- About a Boy Not a big fan of Hugh, but i think this is his finest work. (Mickey Blue Eyes was quite funny though)
- Gladiator what we do in life, echoes in eternity...
- Moulin Rouge the best musical put to film... ever. Baz Luhrman is now my hero. (no, i will not watch The Sound of Music with you. ever)
- Ghost in the Shell Shirow rules.
- Appleseed Again, Shirow rules.
- Beauty and the Beast one of a few Disney films i get sappy over.
- Aladdin has best Disney villain ever. could have done without "A Whole New World" but you gotta take the bad with the good. ;)
- The Emperor's New Groove beware the GroooOooOooove! best Disney comedy of all time
And, yes, it's terribly manly of me to admit all my crying to you, the random visitor from the interweb, but I don't care. I laugh easily and I cry easily. Deal with it. :) | | Television | Thee shows are being recorded for me by my Comcast HD-DVR powered by Microsoft:
- Seahawks games
- House, M.D. (One of these days, it WILL be lupus!)
- K-Ville (gripping character drama)
- Battlestar Galactica (the new season starts soon... mwahahaha)
- Firefly (Watch this!)
- My Name Is Earl (it's hi-larious!)
- Futurama (as Bender would say, if you don't like it, you can kiss my shiny metal... ;)
- Journeyman (i'm genuinely intrigued... can't wait to see how this one ends up, and i hope it makes it past season 1!)
- Prison Break (this show just gets better every year)
- Heroes ('nuff said.)
p.s. TV rots your brain. I know. I'm not half as smart as I used to be... or at least half as smart as I think I was... Anyway, I really don't watch TV outside of the above list, and i 4 out of 5 dentists agree that these particular shows actually have a sharpening effect on your intellect. Besides, I blame the loss of my more brilliant neurons to watching re-runs of the Simpsons with Steven Rodriguez. ;) | | Books | I'm currently reading George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series.
- A Game of Thrones (awesome book. best fantasy i've read since I re-read LOTR)
- A Clash of Kings
- A Storm of Swords <-- I'm reading this one right now.
- A Feast for Crows (coming in November!)
I'm also reading several books by Dudley Daniel on Church leadership and government. | | Heroes |
- Jeshua Ha'mashiach (he justified everyone everywhere. all you gotta do is receive it)
- Bill Gates (he justified the geek lifestyle, paving the path and then re-paving it with gold...)
- Johnathan "Fatal1ty" Wendel (he and others like him continue to justify gaming as a viable source of income)

About me:
Life is more than money
Time was never money
Time was never cash,
Life is still more than girls
Life is more than hundred dollar bills
And roto-tom fills
Life more than fame and rock and roll and thrills
All the riches of the kings end up in wills
We got information in the information age
But do we know what life is
Outside of our convenient Lexus cages?
-Switchfoot: Gone
I break things for a living.
In case that didn't make sense... I test software for a small software company in Redmond, Washington, USA. Some people call us the Borg, others call us the Evil Empire. They abbreviate our name M$ in countless online forums... but I think the world wouldn't be as bright and rosy as they'd like to think it would be without us.
I also write code. Making a computer dance to your whim is incredibly fun, but the learning curve is admittedly kind of steep. But the hardware we have today is about a billion times more powerful than what we sent men to the moon in... how can one resist? Programming puts this awesome power at your fingertips.
Sometimes I write code to break things. Goes with the territory and makes my job fun. :)
I also like Japanese Anime. Once upon a time i wanted to be an animator. I wanted to go to Japan and study their "anime" style and return to america and conquer the world with it (or something like that)...
Those dreams have been put on hold for now... but in the meanwhile I can still enjoy watching anime even if i can't enjoy creating it. :)
While galavanting around the interweb I stumbled over an anime personality (in the form of a kiss) quiz. Quoth the quizzerbeast:
You have an intense kiss! You and your partner connect when you kiss and you forget about the rest of the world. Hey, call me!!! ^_~
What anime kiss are you?
(Well, i don't have a "partner" at the moment, but it looks like we have some intensity to look forward to... no complaints here. *grin*)
Guess what? It would seem that i'm somewhat of a dreamer. I admit that it's true... perhaps a New Year's resolution should be for me to stop dreaming of what would be cool and start making cool happen. ;)
You Are a Dreaming Soul
Your vivid emotions and imagination takes you awy from this world
So much so that you tend to live in your head most of the time
You have great dreams and ambitions that could be the envy of all...
But for you, following through with your dreams is a bit difficult
You are charming, endearing, and people tend to love you.
Forgiving and tolerant, you see the world through rose colored glasses.
Underneath it all, you have a ton of passion that you hide from others.
Always hopeful, you tend to expect positive outcomes in your life.
Souls you are most compatible with: Newborn Soul, Prophet Soul, and Traveler Soul
Remember when I told you I break things? As a software tester, it's my job to point out flaws in other people's code... here's a classic example and maybe you can help me out with it. I took this IQ test and it told me:
Your IQ Is 140
Your Logical Intelligence is Below Average
Your Verbal Intelligence is Genius
Your Mathematical Intelligence is Genius
Your General Knowledge is Genius
A Quick and Dirty IQ Test
Now, for the life of me, I can't figure out how my Logical is 'Below Average'. I've changed my answers on all the logic questions experimentally and I can only get my IQ to go down by doing so.
Also, I observed that one of his answers is just plain wrong. He asks which of four languages is the least spoken, and says Hindi is the least. Yet, 487 million people speak Hindi, and only 221 million people speak Arabic.* What gives?
If you can figure it out, feel free to leave me a comment!
* (Language numbers from here and here.)
Apparently I'm a brilliant mix of all of these chums. It all depends on exactly how cool I feel on a given day:
Who are you? Find out @ She's Crafty
In other unrelated news, I just found out about my inner European:
Your Inner European is Irish!

Sprited and boisterous!
You drink everyone under the table.
Hooray for personality:
Personality Profile

You are elegant, withdrawn, and brilliant.
Your mind is a weapon, able to solve any puzzle.
You are also great at poking holes in arguments and common beliefs.
For you, comfort and calm are very important.
You tend to thrive on your own and shrug off most affection.
You prefer to protect your emotions and stay strong.
...and, yes, my favorite beer is:
| Which Guitar Player Are You? | Dave Mustaine You are Dave Mustaine! You are the frontman and creator of Megadeth, the only true classic metal band left from the 80's. You've been to rehab over a dozen times, you've died and come back to life, and you are an incredible guitar player. Your mouth gets you into trouble a lot, but you don't really give a damn. | | Take The Quiz Now! | Quizzes by myYearbook.com |
Ye olde religion test results:
 | You scored as Christianity. Your views are most similar to those of Christianity. Do more research on Christianity and possibly consider being baptized and accepting Jesus, if you aren't already Christian.
Christianity is the second of the Abrahamic faiths; it follows Judaism and is followed by Islam. It differs in its belief of Jesus, as not a prophet nor historical figure, but as God in human form. The Holy Trinity is the concept that God takes three forms: the Father, the Son (Jesus), and the Holy Ghost (sometimes called Holy Spirit). Jesus taught the idea of instead of seeking revenge, one should love his or her neighbors and enemies. Christians believe that Jesus died on the cross to save humankind and forgive people's sins.
