   About Jero
Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Jero starting listening to Enka, or "Japanese blues" at a very young age. He sang Enka to please his Japanese grandmother, and found himself in love with the genre himself. After graduating from the University of Pittsburgh in 2003, he moved to Japan in hopes of becoming an Enka singer. He worked as a system engineer in Japan, while singing in various karaoke contests. It was there he caught the eye of a record executive at Victor Entertainment. After 2 years of voice training, he recorded his first single, "Umiyuki" or "ocean snow."

日本人である祖母の影響を受け、幼少より演歌を聴き始める。 そして、大好きな祖母を喜ばせる為に自分でも演歌を歌い始めるうちに、自分自身が演歌の虜となる。 その後、名門ピッツバーグ大学に進学し、情報科学を専攻。優秀な成績を収め、コンピュータエンジニアとして周囲から将来を嘱望される。だが、その一方で演歌の魅力にますますとりつかれ、ついに2003年、演歌歌手になる為に来日。来日して2ヵ月後にはNHKのど自慢に出場し、いきなり合格。 その後、コンピュータエンジニアとして仕事をする一方で、各地のカラオケ大会で数々の優勝・準優勝を獲得。アマチュア演歌歌手として精力的に活動を続けているところを、 ビクターエンタテインメントがスカウト。 2年に及ぶボーカルトレーニングを経て、2008年2月シングル「海雪」でビクターエンタテインメントよりデビュー。 一聴しただけでは日本人としか思えないその歌声は、初めて聴いた者すべてを驚愕さ せる。 日本人以上に日本人の心を持つジェロの登場は、2008年最大の衝撃である。
