Despite only forming in July 04, the tale of Jerome's Law is a long rollercoaster of emotions ranging from "I never want to hear a guitar again" to "oh my god West, you bloody genius". I (Shane) first met Mr.Ronan Parker whilst in 1st class in primary school. His carefree rebellious attitude perplexed me, he regularly got in trouble for putting his feet up on the table. Despite my young age I knew deep down that this guy was just what I needed for the ultimate rock band. Right then and there phase one of my plan was more or less complete.
Despite my early success it was to take me a further 7 years before I was to complete phase two. In the small ghetto neighbourhood known as Castlehood I was introduced to Adam, a long haired fellow standing at his door, entertaining us by playing Johnny B.Goode on his........wait for it, GUITAR. Right then I knew this was my opportunity. Despite not being able to stand him, I endured just so Id have a world class guitarist for my project. It was at that time I figured I had better take up guitar myself if my scheme was ever to take place, Ronan did the same and soon the three of us started "jamming" together.
The third phase was not to happen until the summer of 2002 when I encountered a friendly fellow by the name of Jerome. He played piano and dazzled me with his musical knowledge. Run that mixolydian thing by me again Jerome I used to say, ahhh them were the days. The thought of piano had never crossed my mind until then but I knew Jerome was the man for the job.
Then there was only one element missing, a drummer. Whilst still jammin with Ronan and Adam we occassionally put advertisements out seeking a drummer but to no avail. Then Jerome hit us with a proposition to end all propositions. He suggested that we join forces with him and Donal, the drummer from their other band, The Narrows. It was at that moment that I realised my dream was about to become a reality, it all made sense and all those years of putting up with Adam were about to become worth while. Then in the summer for the first time the five of us found ourselves in the same room, playing music together and the rest is rock history!
