Sounds Like
The purr of a tractor in the next holler.
The hum of the bees in the plum trees on an early spring morning.
The whine of a skillsaw
The clink of the ice cubes in your sweet tea glass on the porch after work.
Your dog barking at a coon cornered under the house
Jerry Logan plays stand up bass, guitar, Dobro, lap steel, sings in a rich baritone and writes good songs. He has toured and recorded with some fine musicians, including, Bob Paisley and Southern Grass, The Schankmans, Barry and Holly Tashian, Peter Rowan and Laurie Lewis.
"Crossing the Border" and "Goodbye", are off Jerry's first cd, "One Red Rose" and were recorded by Garth Webber at Red Rooster Studios. "Cowboy's Mona Lisa" & "I'm the One" are demos recorded a few years ago. "White Wooden Cross" & "When You're Gone" are the most current Tascam efforts. Jerry played all instruments.
Current projects include some fine traditional bluegrass with Tenbrooks. Their long awaited CD, "Thoroughbred Bluegrass" just came out. Click Tenbrooks on the friends link to see more. Also, Julay Brooks of Nightbirds fame has put together a great (soon to be named) country/swing band featuring Tony Marcus on fiddle, Charlie Wallace on Dobro & National, and Jerry on bass. They have just recorded five songs so look for more on that later. In his spare time, Jerry is working on getting his own music out in the world...
Jerry is also a talented silversmith and in some circles, is known as "The Jeweler to the Bluegrass Stars". He works with silver, copper, gold and semi-precious stones. Being a musician, lots of his designs are for musicians! Need a pair of silver Tele earrings with turquoise? How about a banjo pendant with a spot of amethyst? Ok, guitar strap conchos that spell your name? Silver & ebony bridge pins? You get the picture. Click on his website link under band info.
And, after having the slide show up for awhile, some clarification is in order. He is NOT naked! "It was Nashville heat, recording in a small isolation room, so to cool down, I took my shirt off".
Red Brown! You old Rockabilly Rebel, how the hell are you? Good to see you're still around and laying it down. Life in Hawaii is sweet and mellow - if it wasn't so nice, I would've had the next CD finished a long time ago. Let me know if you need steel tracks on anything - I've gotten pretty good at flying tracks around the world. Later, N.
