Hello, I'm Jerry Dugger.
I caught the music bug early in life, listening to my parents Ida and Alfonza sing around the house, singing with them in church, and listening to their collection of 78rpm records.
I always loved to listen to and sing to the radio, I guess that would be how I developed my voice, and eclectic musical tastes.
Through an amazing set of circumstances I found myself being introduced to the New York City Blues scene by way of the now infamous Dan Lynch Blues Bar. I spent thirteen years studying Blues and running the Saturday afternoon jam session there. This little bar became the hub of the Blues scene in NYC, many legendary Blues musicians stopped by to say hello and sing a song on a Saturday afternoon, it is an education that could not be replicated. These days my music is focused on my original compositions, The Blues, and Country Music. My mission is to write and sing great songs. A great song can touch you the way nothing else can. A great song can take complex issues and break them down so everyone can understand them.
I hope you enjoy the range of performances displayed in these recordings,
I had a great time doing them.

"Ticklin' The Strings" by Sweet Hollywaiians
Amazing Japanese hot string band playing 1920's, 30's, 40's style hawaiian, swing, calypso, blues, italian music and originals, featuring vintage instruments.3 songs with Robert Armstrong and Tony Marcus(from Robert Crumb and His Cheap Suit Serenaders)
"The Sweet Hollywaiians have probably the best feel for this 20's music of any string band working today. They manage the rare feat of sounding relaxed even when their playing is hot, are top notch musicians with tasteful arrangements and a full, rich, warm sound.Plus, they have a nice gamut of tunes, from King Nawahi to Giovanni Vicari to Bobby Leecan. See them live, if you can, for an unforgettable experience. If you can't, buy their Cds!" ~ Terry Zwigoff
