| About Jerry Haines |
|
Jerry Haines is a Solo/Singer/Songwriter Folk Act who has been making a living playing festivals, fairs, colleges, concert series, and Coffee Houses throughout the Mid-Atlantic full time for the past 24 years.
His style would fall in the Folk/Contemporary Folk category. He finger picks most of his songs on guitar and adds strong blends of harmonica. Jerry's well thought out 'from the heart' lyrics draw on day to day life, love, loss, happiness, and sadness that are easy for people to understand and relate to.
His influences would have to be the likes of Bob Dylan, John Prine, Graham Nash, Loudon Wainwright, Carole King, Mary Chapin Carpenter, and Joni Mitchell.
Jerry also plays an autoharp that offers its beautiful, distinctive, "Old Time" sound and accompanies himself on harmonica at times. Pretty, flowing waltzes to lively paced reels and jigs. What a sound!
Through Jerry's travel he has shared the stage with some of the best: Tom Chapin, Livingston Taylor, Leo Kottke, John McCutcheon, Leon Redborne, Bluesman Chris Smither, Singer/Songwriter Bill Miller, Mike Marshall, Cajun Music's Beausoleil, Zydeco Great Queen Ida, Windham Hill's Nightnoise, and Claw Hammer Banjoist, Debbie McClatchy.
Jerry's music is a great asset for any musical event! Jerry has two CD's to his credit, "Hope the Next Town is Mine" is an earlier recording done by himself on guitars, harmonicas, autoharp, and vocals.
"Into My Life" is his recent release and is a little more contemporary studio recording. Tasty arrangements and talented accomplished musicians surround Jerry on this all original project.
Both recordings have been featured on PBS, W.V.I.A out of Pittston, PA. "Into My Life" has also been featured on the legendary folk program, "Traditions", hosted by Mary Cliff on NPR radio station WETA 90.9 FM which broadcasts in the greater Washington D.C. area.
Jerry is a wonderful, warm, entertainer and excellent songwriter/performer with a good quality, down to earth personality. Give Jerry Haines a try!.
