Jerry Preston has studied and performed a variety of musical styles ranging from folk and classical to blues and progressive rock on both electric and steel string acoustic guitar. He attended the Hochstein School of Music in 1993. Through private instruction, training in music theory, and independent studies, he has developed and applied unique and unorthodox techniques to the acoustic guitar. With the use of harmonics, two handed chordal tapping, altered tunings, and a combination of strumming, slapping, and other percussive techniques, his guitar evolves into an orchestra of melody, harmony, and rhythm
In 2002, Preston and Bianchi released their first CD together. The disc is titled Dreaming Out Loud and serves as a condensed culmination to a decade of exploration. Meeting with critical acclamation, Dreaming Out Loud is a graceful compilation of bass solos, guitar pieces and duets. Music from the disc has been featured on radio programs such as Music of the 21st Century and the nationally syndicated Echoes with John Diliberto.
Hey Jerry, I haven't seen you in a while. I hope things are going well. I'll try to stop by the music studio next time I'm in town and I'll probably take summer lessons. Take care.
