OUTSTANDING SHOW at McCabes Sat. Best we've seen in a long time. Loved that AJ opened and sat in. A remarkable, rememberable night!!! Love to you, Naomi, and Paul.... Great to see you all! D
Great show at McCabe's last night. The band sounded great, and your performance was terrific. I have been to McCabe's perhaps a hundred times (played there myself in 1976), but it is the first time I have seen a drum set on the stage. Rodney Crowell's drummer whanged brushes on a cardboard box while sitting on the stairs one time, but that's about it. You actually pulled it off, but your brand of quietly, raucous rock really hit the spot. Hopefully, it won't be another 35-years before we have a chance to see you guys again.
Stopping by to show some love!!! Also don't forget Toxic Recording when it comes time to record your next project. Our rates start from $20/hr + FREE mixing which is one of the best deals around!!!!
Thanks for the befriending. In 1975, I had quit teaching to play music, and I was working in a record store to make ends meet. I found "Jerry Riopelle" in a box of cut-outs, and I was blown away (I stumbled across my first Townes Van Zandt record for ten cents in a grocery bin in '69—music is a very harsh and unjust business). I immediately ordered "Saving Grace" and "Take a Chance." It took a bit longer to track down "2nd Album." Then my brother and I had the chance to see you at the Troubadour in LA later that year. I was clearly hooked on your unique songs and sound. It is such a pleasure to know that you are still kicking out the stops nearly 35-40 years later. Thanks for the inspiration and the music!
