Jerry Von Friend began playing at a very young age, and eventually ended up in Arizona where he honed his skills at not only playing, but recording and producing music. An accomplished multinstrumentalist, Jerry has mastered the art of mixing and has worked with musicians all over the country.
Then, in Florida in 2001, a new road was taken when he entered a song in a radio show's "Monster Battle of the Bands" competition (Then Monsters of the Midday, now Monsters in the Morning on Orlando's 104.1 and 152 on XM). While never a clear winner, he was noticed, and in 2003 one of his songs "Monster Meat Machine" became the title song on the show's DVD "Ballz Deep". Later he began recording and playing with the show, producing with Burt (Bubba "Whoopass") Wilson, Russ Rollins, and "Dirty" Jim. He also did music for "Drunky the Bear" on his personal DVD Counterparts II.
In 2006 he moved from Florida to Ohio where he takes care of his family and records his own music. In 2008, he appeared on a Posies Tribute album on the song "Coming Right Along" Still in touch with Bubba and Daniel Dennis, he helped engineer the CD "Everett the Drunken Piano", and is now working on more solo projects, and also working with the Monsters & Brian Young (Fountains of Wayne).
