Bio
You can also visit Jersey Julie Fan Page on facebook!! I grew up in New Jersey, and loved it!! I took all I could from the sand, sea, snow, pine forests .. and I was playing in the woods all the time or in NYC - seeing Broadway Theatre Musicals, experimental theatre, jazz clubs, rock clubs, meeting sax players - taking lessons on sax, singing, dancing & auditioning for shows - singing and dancing since I was 5 years old, and playing the sax since I was 8 years old. I always knew this would be my life - Play & sing and dance for people - it's brought me a lot of joy and that's the quest for me - joy in music - even if it's sad or painful or the takes you somewhere that makes you cry - there is joy in that - getting through all that - getting to your heart. So I played and struggled and starved and cried and started making it little by little each day and now I'm playing all over the world and the phone rings for me, not just me begging for a job or chance anymore. But hey that could change on a dime - anyday and that's the blues - so I try everyday to do right and keep my head above water. I went to University at UW-Madison & lived in Chicago 8 years doing theatre and playing music, as well as LA for a year and then Paris and then Atlanta for 6 years - each city taught me something valuable with incredible people especially artists to share with me and show me things along the way. Keep growing, learning and never lose your zest and optimism for life - it's some of the best advice I ever got from many people. If you need more info on me, you know how to contact me. I have Bios in French, German, Italian, English! The Vagabonds are Olivier Mas and Jersey Julie (with other special guests at times) and The Jersey Julie Band is Olivier Mas, Stephane Blanc, and Jersey Julie, with the addition of great guest artists sometimes like Christian Benard and some fantastic drummers when ever the moment is possible. In the last 12 years I have spent 6 of those years with The Mudcat Band from Atlanta Georgia and I've been touring and playing as The Vagabonds or as Jersey Julie Band and "guest artisting" with about 20-30 bands and guitar & piano players from the USA and Europe. Some of the artists include Mike Greene & Jeff Zima, Babajack from England .. many many great musicians all over the world. This is one great planet filled with amazing people and artists. Other great Musicians I've played or toured with in USA and Europe, The Delusions, JP Soars, Sean Carney, Lucky Peterson, Snave, Paolo Fabris. Mudcat, Midnite Johnny, Johnie Lee, Mike Greene, Graham Drought, Clay Caulkins, Eskil Wetterquist, Moreno and all the new friends in Germany, Uwe on Contrbasse, Hartmut on Banjo, Walter on Bass .. -

Sounds Like
The Jersey Julie Band, a rockabilly blues mountain/bluegrass gospel funk band. People just start moving as soon as they hear it. I'm dancng and stomping and blowing the sax and Olivier Mas and Stephane Blanc are sliding and slapping their guitars and bass and we are sizzling. We sound like people in a kitchen pouring over a hot stove to make a fine finger lickin' feast while simultaneously swingin' from a chandelier and soberly, at times, discussing the joys and sorrows of life over several bottles of wine or shots of whiskey & vodka. Sticky, hot, sweet, calm, tranquil, vibratin' guitar, bass, and sax with vocal harmonies and a "hot time in the ol' town" approach to a great night out. People tell us we do something good for their soul every time they see us. That's why we do it, that's what makes us go on and on!! The Jersey Julie Band has a big upright bass as a back bone and a man who can lift that thing and dance on it and spin it and go wild. Nothing to stop him. Lot's of harmonies and great energy and charisma and we've got video to prove it - if I can get it edited soon.
