I started performing at The Embers Avenue on a Thursday night. I never thought that I would be hosting my own show. I started hosting on a Tuesday night and then the bar decided to cancel the show due to business, so I went to the Thursday night show. Some months after the bar tried a new promotion which brought me to Hosting BOIS NIGHT. It really didn't work out and the Wednesday night show which at the time was FETISH NIGHT wasn't going so well either. So The bar decided to make Wednesday night a drag night. I have been hosting Wednesday night show since October of 2007. The show is going better than ever and I see it going places and I am looking forward to it as well. Well here is a good question to ask , what kind of music do I like . Well I would have to say I really like all kinds of music as long as it doesn't give me a headace . But for the most part I would have to say that I do like dancemusic more than any other . So do you ever really think about what it would be like to live someone else's life . I do all the time but you know I wouldn't give mine up for anything because I am very happy with the way things are going for me . I mean it would be cool to live as someone else for one day and see your self threw there eyes .Movies
Ok so I have to tell you that My Fair Lady is my all time fav movie in the world , there just is not another movie like it (well to me there isn't) I do like scary movies (come on who doesn't liked to be scared shit less sometimes) . I am a sucker for tear jerker's and chick flicks but then again I am gay .Television
Well here is another good questions . My favorite TV show comes on Sundays and it would be Extreme Makeover Home Edition . Every time I watch the show I do have to say I do cry . I like a lot of the comedy that comes on channel 12 after the news . I usually watch those shows and then go to bed . During the day I am still on channel 12 watching all the Judges shows . If you haven't checked those out well you should .Books
So I have two fav books that are just the shit 1 is Making Faces by Kevin Aucoin and the 2nd is Face Forward also by Kevin Aucoin. Yes makeup books but n some ways they are more than that. About me:
My name is John and I was born in Amarillo, Texas In November of 1981. At a young age my mother and older brother and I moved to Hulbert, Oklahoma to live with my mothers family. I lived in Oklahoma until I turned 17 and then I moved here to Oregon on accident when I visited my older brother for Christmas break. I liked Oregon so much I stayed here and have lived here since. My coming out was something that scared me but it was something that I had to do to be able to be my self. I learned that everyone that I knew didn't care that I was gay and a lot of my friends respected me for coming out and being myself.On April 14th 2005 I tested HIV positive and I honestly thought that my life was over as I knew it. I had to prove to myself that I could go on living and live my life just like normal and I did. In June of 2005 I was crowned MISS GAY PRIDE of PORTLAND and at that moment I know I could do anything that I wanted and the fact that I was positive wouldn't stop or slow me down as long as I didn't let it. During my year as Miss Gay Pride I met so many people like my self (positive) and they showed me that life can go on and knowing and learning that from them made me even strong as a person. At the same time I learned of the Imperial Sovereign Rose Court and met a wonderful community of people and a large group of people that I consider family. Since being involved with the community I have started my own drag family and become MISS GAY OREGON 37 of the Imperial Sovereign Rose Court and also host my own Show at the Embers Avenue in downtown Portland. I plan on continuing my Drag role here in Portland for a very long while and as long as I am healthy I will remain a strong person and a role-model for those who need one.
Who I'd like to meet:
Well I would have to say that what I look for it someone is that you have to be able to deal with my bitchiness . LOL . No but really, It would be nice to have people around me that have some of the same things in common in life that I do . Dancing , Drinking out with friends , Going to the beach when I get the chance , And just someone who likes to have fun and enjoy life the way that it is . . . . . . . . . Other than that I am enjoying being single and I am not really looking for someone but if it happens well what can you do but see where it can go. . . . . I would also have to say that I have walls up but I do feel that if the right person came along I would be able to let my walls down. It wouldn't be easy for them to come down but I would let someone try and hope that I wouldn't be or get hurt...
