Experiencing "Driven Back" is like going out away from the brightness of the city's night lights to the un-obstructed brilliance of a billion stars blanketing a desert sky. You have no trouble sensing the realness in every aspect of this unique project.
After listening to the album and having knowledge of how it came to be, I immediately recalled a similar production which to this day is one of my all-time favorites; John Fogerty's "Centerfield." Although reasons and background surrounding the two recordings differ somewhat, the mechanics, from original songs to recording techniques to instruments are nearly identical.
